Weekend Disaster

Saturday outing.

The entire week passed quickly with no more drama. I had lots of things in my mind but I gave them a little halt as I don’t want to create any kind of rift in our mushrooming relationship.

On Friday evening when I and Gavin were about to leave his phone started to ringing. He fished out quickly and got the call. My eyes almost bulged out when I saw the caller ID. It was Jaxon who called him.

Unknown butterflies started to rumble in my stomach as this was unexpected. I was having light beads of sweat on my forehead but I remained stick to him as I wanted to know what is the purpose of his calling.

My ears were on Gavin continuously but barely able to understand what they were talking g about.

After few minutes of talking, he finished the call. I gestured to him to ask about what they were talking about.

He gave me a smiley node.

“Jaxon is a big heart person. He is a man of his words.” He started to praise him. I frowned at him. I twitched my eyes that why he was beating around the bush.

“What’s the matter, Gavin?” I was looking at him with puzzlement.

“Do you remember he asked for the weekend get together in our first video conferencing?” He started to clear the clouds.

Inwardly I was already knowing this thing but I was praying to God that he must forget it but he proved me wrong. That jerk wants a weekend recreation. I gulp down the big lump in my throat. It was feeling like my mind was about to shatter in the pieces.

What if he tries to do something g mischievous and Gavin caught up with us. I have already moved on from my past and wanted to spend my life only with Gavin, my love of life my husband. But no here I am all stupor. How can I accept that I can enjoy my life without any drama?

“Scarlett,” Gavin called my name which only brought me back to earth.

“What happened, are you alright?” he asked out of concern.

“No nothing, I was just thinking about that meeting.” I lied again.

“So what did you say to him for his proposal?” I asked without any interest.

“He planned a small weekend trip for us. So he will be at our place to pick us in the morning.” He beamed with excitement.

I need and smiled sheepishly.

“What happened? You are not excited about it. Finally, we would get some free time to spend together.”
