Chapter 41

830 Words

Kael did not move at first. He sat very still. I could feel his heart beating fast. He knew. He felt the bond between us screaming with energy. He could feel my panic and he could feel the raw power that was coming from me. He turned his head just a little bit. He looked at me out of the corner of his eye. His eyes went wide when he saw the light coming from my skin. My face was glowing. My eyes felt like they were turning into two bright stars. The shaking got worse. A plate on the table slid across the wood and fell to the floor. It shattered into a hundred pieces. The sound was like a crack of thunder in the quiet room. Marcus moved away from the window. He was looking at me with a look of pure shock. He saw the silver. He saw the glow that was now so bright it was hard to look at.
