“I don’t mean this to sound harsh, Aggie,” Julian said in a measured tone. “But what do you mean by you know him? When was the last time you were in contact with him?”
“When I was a child, my mother wanted me to expand my world. She sent me to a school in Canada where she knew the headmistress. I was about Sophia’s age when I arrived,” Aggie said, smiling at the fond memories of her time at the school. “That was when I met Alaster. He was there for the same reason. The difference was that Alaster possessed black magic and I did not. And before anyone says anything, that does not mean he is evil or that his magic is. It can be used for evil and is often used that way.”
“My question is, why didn’t you know it was him after you went out to investigate the magic he left behind?” Kevin asked.
