“Are you sure you are OK?” Everly asked Ashton as they finished their walk home alone. The siblings had split up soon after leaving their parents’ home to return to their own. Now, Everly and Ashton were walking hand-in-hand to their home near the forest edge.
“I think so. I feel different, but whatever happened didn’t seem to have any lingering negative effects,” Ashton said as he released Everly’s hand to drape his arm around her shoulders. “I was expecting pressure of something from that wave that came from you all, but it felt like I was kicked in the chest as it passed through me.”
