Ida
“f**k, f**k, f**k,” is all I can say as I pace through Derek’s living room. “I f****d up royally today.”
“You’re Ida Burton. No one will hold it against you, darling.” He’s trying to calm me down, but I can’t stand still long enough for him to comfort me.
“That’s exactly why I screwed up so much. Because I’m Ida Burton.” I try to steady myself by looking out the window. The sky is steel-blue, not a cloud to be seen. “I need to call Leslie. I need to get out of this movie.”
“Ida, please, calm down.”
“You don’t understand, Derek. I made such a fool of myself. I froze like a nervous first-year drama student with the worst case of stage fright. I can’t go back there.”
