“I’m in love with you,” he whispers.
Emilie feels her ears get tickled when he says that again. She still stares at him frozenly. She can’t believe all of the words he says to her. It’s just too much to take at one time. He must be crazy.
“No, you can’t be,” Emilie brushes away his hand from her shoulder. “You’re just making it up. So, you will find a way to fix your relationship with me. And no, Jack. That’s not gonna work anyway.”
“You’re wrong. I’m not making this up. I’m really in love with you. I love you. I want to say it ever since we met in that room. In the Elite club,” he confesses to her finally.
She narrows her eyes hard at him, while trying to understand what he really means.
