12 Max followed the woman through the house and out into an expansive sun room. It reminded him of Mrs. Pitt's porch, but it was enclosed and much fancier. He wondered if there were gnomes in there, too. The woman opened a set of glass doors and stepped out into the most beautiful garden he had ever seen. There were more flowers than he could ever imagine and they were all in full bloom. The woman closed her eyes and breathed deep. “I love being out here,” she said, watching Bartholomew scamper away after a lone butterfly. She turned and smiled at him. He liked her face.
