I - Price
Everyone wants a knew beginning , regardless of the consequences. A genie granting a wish, a prayer answered, in every miracle one's soul could never be contented In one way or another everyone wants more. More can be addicting
"Let's go. " a father took his daughter's hand and crossed the street . Due to the sudden pull , the girl dropped the popsicle she was holding. With her father's stern face she couldn't even complain.
The grey skies cried for the fallen popsicle Slowly, drop by drop the rain fell. People around we started running, Looking for a place to take cover.
"Girl ! Don't be out in the rain ! you'll get sick ! " An elderly called out . When I didn't respond, she just shook her head. "teenagers " she scoffed. She gave me one last look before leaving.
"What comes easy won't last " a stranger came out of nowhere , spoke . " What lasts won't come easy " I replied . "You been waitin' long? " he ask. "No".
Silence came after as we both watch the rain fall. "is it done? " I asked, breaking the silence. "Yes. Here." he gave a thick envelope . " What's this ? " I took it from him and found pictures inside.
"evidence" was hic simple answer . "I don't need it " I handed him back the envelope. "Burn it ." I ordered . He nodded his head in response . "Here " I gave him his payment but instead of taking it he shook his head and said " you done me a great help making we do this. Keep your payment " He left afterwards.
I was left out in the rain , now fully drench . I let out a breath of relief , fogging up the view infront of me. It was now finally over. I smile up to the sky knowing what I did, would never be undone .
I haven't notice the time when the rain finally stop.
They'll be coming soon .
I had to go. I started to limp my way home.
Half way , I suddenly felt a heavy blow on my neck, then suddenly darkness.
It's a price I have to pay.
