Chapter 7

Audenzia pov

My head was throbbing. It felt like thousands of needles were poking my head and my throat was so dry. I felt like s**t. I knew I was probably looking like s**t too.

I wanted to wake up and open my eyes but my eye lids felt so damn heavy. Holy shit.. I groaned and tried to pry my eyes open.

"Ah! So the Alpha Queen has dimmed us with her conscious.", that was Vale. She sounded angry though, yeah sounded cause I couldn't even open my god forsaken eyes yet.

I groaned again, I shouldn't have drunk last night. If I'm getting hangover then I must have been drinking like s**t. f**k! I slowly pried my eyes open and blinked at the bright light in the room. 

"S-swi-switch off t-the L-li-light.",I croaked. She didn't switch it off but she dimmed it. I opened my eyes again and saw that Vale and Glo were sitting in my bedroom. Glo looked like Glo and Vale looked pissed and worried to hell.

"What happened?",I asked looking at her and trying to get up. "What happened? What happened? Seriously Audenzia? What's wrong with you? First you disappear from the Gala without any reason, you don't answer us. Then when I come to check up on you you're drunk as hell and you pass out? That too in your office? And you're asking me that 'what happened?' ", she said frustratingly. Whoa, she called me Audenzia. She never called me that except when she was pissed off. 

I sighed. I mean there was nothing strange in getting drunk. 

"Except for the fact that you never drink, except when it's necessary? And the small fact that you're professional as f**k and never allow even a outsider to ever come drunk in your office?" Macy pointed out growling.

"Oh so you're talking to me now I see." I said. 

"No, I was merely pointing out facts." She retorted. 

She isn't talking to me since yesterday when we had a frustrating argument because of which I ended up getting drunk. 

"Don't you dare, don't you dare blame me you insolent female.", she growled back. 

"Shut up shut up.", I only realized that I had said that out loud when I heard a low growl erupt from Valencia's throat. She was looking at me with a blazing fire in her eyes.

"Shut up? Hmm? All right I'll shut up. Do whatever the f**k you want to do.", she said and stormed away angrily. I sighed, one more problem. Ah! My hangover induced brain. I was getting annoyed now, I was an adult for god's sake, I can do whatever the hell I want to do, even get drunk and pass out in my office, however nonprofessional it might be.

"Here, take this it'll help.", Glo said passing me a pill of ibuprofen and a glass of water. I hurriedly took the pill and slumped on my bed. "Why did you drink?", Glo asked softly.

"I got in an argument with my wolf and it was so frustrating.. I just.. lost control.", I said. She nodded thoughtfully. "Don't worry Vale will come around. She was really worried. You're never like this.", she said. I nodded. "I'll go and talk to her. You might want to take a hot shower, it might help.", she said getting up and walking out of the room.

I closed my eyes... and drifted of to a world of drowsiness.

Valencia pov

I was so pissed off. I mean seriously? She's telling me to shut up? 

Oh please, don't disguise your anger elsewhere, you're just angry because Zia didn't reveal the truth. Lisa mocked.

It's nothing like that. I retorted.

You can't hide things from me. She said and went in the back of my mind.

I went in the kitchen and started to brew up a coffee for myself. " What went up your ass and died?" , Sarah asked watching my sour mood. I scowled at that and she laughed. "Vale, it's okay, don't be so angry at her. She was just not in the mood.", Glo said who had been following me silently all this time. i threw her a look. "I know that you know something. Tell me, what is it that she is hiding?", I asked her throwing her the look which I give my employees which makes them work faster. But she wasn't my employee. She just rolled her eyes and said, " She said that she was feeling uncomfortable and out of place and she was pissed and she was irritated so she wanted to disappear from there. She just had ice cream with me and then went to her office." , she said. 

I gave her a long long look. Zia? Uncomfortable? Out of place? I snorted. She was clearly lying. Even Sarah was giving her a suspicious look.

Shes lying. Sarah mind-linked me. 

It seems so, let it be. I mind-linked back.

 I shrugged and went to my room drinking the coffee slowly. If Glo is lying then there must be something. She wont lie just like that. 

Indeed she won't. Said Lisa appearing from nowhere. 

So, it means that Zia had ordered her to keep a secret? I asked.

Clearly. She said. 

So, that means we cant get through her. She's obliged. I said thoughtfully.

Of course she is obliged. But... wolves aren't obliged to follow human orders right? She asked.

Yeah... but how can that help us? I asked.

Even if your sister doesn't tell you the truth my sister wont hide things from me. She said and she blocked me out. 

She blocked me out? Outrageous! Simply outrageous! And what did she mean about her sis... Oh! Bloody hell! That devious little b***h! why didn't I think about it?

Because you're dumb. She said coming again.

Shut up! What did she say? What did Macy say? I asked.

She wasn't feeling well. They both are arguing over something. She didn't tell me the whole truth, even though she isn't obliged too Zia she cant simply do whatever she wants. And this, did seem very important. Or else I've never seen them arguing. Unlike you and me they are always on the same side and they think alike. she said.

Hmm... it seems really important. What do you think? Should we interfere? I asked, even though I already knew the answer. 

Of course we should. She's our sister we cant just sit back and watch her suffering. She said determined. 

You're right. But how do we help her if we didn't even know what the problem is in the first place? I asked. 

Wait a minute, I'll go again and ask her about how can we help her and see if I get any hints. She said blocking me out again. 

I sat down on my study table and opened my laptop to check some mails. But I couldn't concentrate. What might be the matter with her? Is something seriously wrong? She was good just before she left from the Gala. What happened afterwards? 

I know what happened. Lisa said coming back in my mind. 

Oh hey, how did it go? And why do you sound so.. dull? I asked. 

Because I've learned something which is very bad. She said sighing.

What do you mean very bad? I asked desperately.

Well.. She told me the reason.. I mean the whole reason... but she made me promise that I cant tell you. She said. 

So I cant know what's wrong with my sister? I scoffed.

No, but you can help. She said sounding a bit hopeful.

So I can help? How.. wonderful. Tell me... how can I help her? I asked. 

You remember the Alpha of the Blood Moon pack? She asked. 

Of course I remember him. I just met him yesterday. I said.

Do you remember Darren saying something about arranging a family dinner or something? She asked.

Hmm.. he said something like that while we were dancing. What about it? I asked.

Arrange it. Arrange a family dinner with them as soon as possible. She said.

And how is that gonna help? Did Macy tell you to do this? But Zia didn't even meet them. How can having a dinner with them solve our problem? I asked.

You're right. She didn't meet them.. But trust me.. These are my instincts.. Trust me this once.. I have a feeling that it is connected. She said.

Hmm... Okay if you're so sure. Anyways they're the second strongest pack having them as allies wont harm and besides.. they're good. I said .

Okay, call Damian right now. She said . 

Alright! I said and pushed her in the back of my mind. 

I took my mobile and dialed his number which we has exchanged yesterday. 

After about three rings he picked up the call, " Hello? i didn't expect you to call me." His deep voice sounded. I gave a small laugh. " Neither did I. But umm.. okay.. lets get strait to the point. How about having a family dinner together. You know, your siblings my sister, your beta, delta, our beta, delta. Hmm?", I asked. 

The line was silent for a minute, then," Okay.. Alright. But its not possible today I'm a bit busy. I'll call you later to let you know." He said. " Alright, let me know. Talk to you later. Why does your voice sound so dull by the way?" I asked. He coughed. " Ahem. Its its nothing.. I was just a bit distracted. I'm working on some .. papers. Don't mind me. " he said sounding uncomfortable. " Oh its alright its alright. Continue your work. I'll hang up. See ya." I said and hanged up.

Good. Now let's wait and see what happens. Lisa said.

I sighed in agreement and went to check up on Zia to find that she was sleeping soundly. I smiled at her, "Don't worry we'll find out a way out of whatever it is that is bothering you.", I whispered and returned to my room and started working again.
