Chapter 4

Audenzia pov

Today was the day of the Gala Maria went to the office directly after breakfast. I and Antony did some paperwork. I was heading downstairs for lunch when I heard the arguing voices. It were Antony and Gloria. "f**k you An.. I don't want to come. And that's final.", came Gloria's irritated voice. "Babe.. Listen to me. If it weren't for the Gala I would've never asked you to come.", Antony replied soothingly. I was confused Gloria never argued she was like an angel. I silently strolled inside the room as they continued to bicker. I sat down besides amused looking Sarah and Rick.

" What's going on? ", I asked Sarah through mind link. "Glo is on her period, she refused to come to the Gala and An is trying to convince her into it." she replied with a smirk covering her face. I grimaced. Even if Gloria was angel she was a devil in her periods. And arguing with her... Poor poor An. We three silently watched them bickering poor An was flustered and Glo was red with frustration and anger. After 10 minutes of watching them I decided it was enough, so I begin, "Glo hey, listen to me. An...An.. Glo..", but they didn't listen to me. I clicked my tongue and took a deep breath, "GLORIA AND ANTONY BENSON IF YOU DON'T STOP THIS MINUTE I WILL TELEPORT YOU TO ANTARCTICA AND LEAVE YOU THERE.", I boomed. They both froze. I sighed. "I'm sorry Alpha", Antony whispered. Gloria just huffed and bent her neck in submission. "What are you, five? If she doesn't want to go Antony it's okay. Just let her be alright? She is NOT feeling well. Periods hurt like hell. We'll go. No one will mind." I declared. Gloria smiled at me and hugged me. "I know there was a reason I loved you." she said. "Don't flatter me.", I said smiling. Sarah chuckled. And we ate our lunch.

"I'm back!", Valencia's voice sounded right beside me. Everyone flinched. "Oh my gosh! Vale you scared us.", Gloria exclaimed keeping her hand on her heart and sighing heavily. Vale began to giggle and planted her childish ass on the seat beside me. "I heard that.", she said pointedly. "Stay out of my bloody head.", I said glaring. She just smiled mischievously and shrugged. "How do you manage a company?", Sarah asked. "You're no more older than a five year child." 

"Talent, babe talent.", Vale smirked. "Talent my ass.", I muttered. Her smirk just widened.

"Let's get ready ladies", Sarah squealed after lunch. I rolled my eyes. "Oh, come on Zia don't be a stick in the mud. It'll be fun, I promise.", she said clutching my hand. "Alright alright.", I sighed. "I'll help you girls today. ", Gloria chimed in. I nodded solemnly. Ah the face of doom. Vale slapped my hand. "Don't be like that.", she whispered.

We went to my room and took nice bath and got ready.

"You look like a f*****g queen.", Rick exclaimed. "She is a f*****g queen.", Antony said chuckling. I smiled and bowed dramatically, "I'm honored, gentlemen.", I said fluttering my eyes. They laughed. 

Rick draped his arms around Sarah and kissed her cheek, "You look as beautiful as ever hun.", he said. Sarah blushed. Valencia cleared her throat in what she thought was a demure manner but it was totally dramatic. 

"What are you guys waiting for? Let's go!", An said. I smirked "Oh sure."

We all started to go, but Vale remained there scowling. "How do I look?", came her voice. We all burst laughing. "You look gorgeous baby sis.", I said smiling at her. "Let's go now. ", she said skipping towards us. Who would say she was a 500 year old CEO of a company. Childish.

We reached the Gala in record time. As soon as we entered the hall, it went silent. Like pin drop silent. And then it burst into whispers. I internally shook my head these people. "Alpha Audenzia!" , came a voice. I looked over, it was Tarah a witch from the council. She came near me and bowed her head on respect. I nodded at her and extended my hand for a handshake, "Councilwoman Tarah", I acknowledged. "We're honored that you respected our request and came to the Gala!" , she said smiling brightly. "I remember your words, and I quote We want you and your sister present in the Gala and that's not a request Alpha. I suppose these aren't words to request, I had to come." ,I said coldly. She visibly gulped. I smirked. "But now that I'm here I plan to enjoy it. So if you'll please excuse us." , I said smiling. She gave me a tight lipped smile and muttered a low of course.

We started to mingle in the sophisticated crowd. There were many Alphas, Lunas, Betas, etc. Nothing interesting. Only one thing that was interesting and that is the smell of nervousness in the air. It was interesting to see how the buff and tough looking Alphas were intimidated by me but trying their best to not show it.

After an hour or so of mingling into shitty conversations I felt Macy stir inside me. Macy was my wolf. What's wrong? I asked her. I don't know. I feel as if something good is gonna happen. She said thoughtfully. I highly doubt it. I replied rolling my eyes. She huffed heavily and went in the back of my mind.

I was drinking a champagne when I smelt it. It was a delicious exotic intoxicating scent of mint and chocolate. My senses overwhelmed with the scent. I began to scan the crowd with my eyes for the scent which was taking a roll on my sanity. And then I saw it or rather him.

He was just entering the hall, dressed in black tux. He was tall like 6 ft 4' or something. Sharp jaw with a hint of stubble, dark brown hair, lips which looked so tempting and soft. And then I saw them his eyes. Pools of dark chocolate. His gaze locked with me and his eyes soften. His lips formed a smile and my heart went crazy.

Mate mate mate mate Macy began to sing in my head. That single word brought me back to senses. It hit me like a ton of bricks. Mate. Mate? Oh no! This can't be happening. s**t! Don't Macy warned me. I blocked her out. I saw he has started coming towards me. 

Oh bloody stinking hell! I racked my brain. Oh yes! "Vale! Listen I've got something very urgent to do. I'll go. Please don't ask anything. It's very urgent, please manage!" , I said already walking away from them. I quickly rushed to a restroom and teleported myself back to the house. I could feel Vale and Antony trying to talk to me but I blocked them out.

I collapsed on the couch in the living room and closed my eyes sighing in relief. My wolf was clawing in the back of mind growling at me. But I shut her out. As I slowly relaxed I saw his beautiful eyes, his chiseled face and his confused expression when I was rushing out of there.... He's so handsome soo good. I could feel his power maybe he was an Alpha.... "Zia? What are you doing here?" , came a voice which broke me from my fantasy.

I snapped my eyes open and there was Gloria in her pajamas holding a tub of ice cream looking at me confusingly. "I..that oh! It's just..um ..Nothing I ...umm..I had to...ummm.." ,I stuttered like stupid. She frowned and then her eyes widened in realization. "You found him." , she stated. My eyes widened. "Who? Umm..no.what? What are you talking about? I found no one." ,I said looking down. She calmly sat down beside me and held my hand. "Don't. Don't lie. You know you don't have to. You can tell me honey." , she said soothingly.

I sighed , "How?" ,I asked simply. She laughed , "Oh honey, I know you. I know only you would be stupid and brave enough to run away from a mate! And I can see it in your eyes. ", she said.

" I saw him. I just ...I'm afraid Glo. I'm not simple she wolf ... My life is complicated. It isn't easy. I'm not ready. ", I said. She nodded understandingly.

" I understand. But remember this. Our mates are our other halves the moon goddess is never wrong. I'm sure you'll figure it out. But I've seen the longing that you try to hide whenever you see any mates. You've waited for so long Zia. Don't push him away. ", she said with a sad smile. I nodded at her. "Let's have a ice cream. It will help with the nerves." , she said getting up. I nodded at her. She came back in a few minutes holding a second tub and spoon and held it out to me. I gladly took it from her and dig in in the frozen deliciousness. 

After sometime of silence I cleared my throat and glanced at Glo nervously. "Umm.. Glo..Please don't tell this to anyone until I uh..umm.." ,I trailed of. She chuckled , "I promise I won't tell anyone. Just tell me was he hot?" , she asked winking. I felt my face grow hot. "Oh he is isn't he? I bet he's hot. Look at your face!" ,she began to laugh.

"Oh shut up! It's nothing. I'll go change now. I have work to do." , I said getting up and walking away. Her laugh echoed in the house as I scowled and stomped away in my room.

He's hot though ... I thought while stripping.
