Chapter 8When Paul and Angela arrived at the office the whole team had been assembled. People were standing around or sitting on or at desks, chatting and drinking coffee. The door to Frank's room was open and Angela could see him talking to a stranger inside. Paul stopped to say hello to a colleague.
“I'd better let the boss know we've arrived,” Angela said and she headed for Frank's room.
“Nice of you to join us, Murphy,” Frank said when she knocked on the door. “I take it your side-kick's with you.”
Angela was alarmed to see that Frank's face was the colour of a lobster and shiny with perspiration. She knew he used to look like this quite often when he was drinking. She glanced at the whisky bottle beside his desk and was relieved to see it was still full.
