"But, you still need to be punished," said Pascal. "What!" "Do you know how dangerous that place is? You could easily become their prey. Why didn't you take a bodyguard from home to accompany you? What if something happened to you there?" Petra was silent, bombarded by questions. "I'm used to going alone. I..." Petra was at a loss, searching for another plausible excuse. "This is your fault! You rarely come home early!" Finally, she blamed Pascal. She cornered him to feel guilty, instead of interrogating her, which could trap Petra into answering. "My fault?" Pascal muttered, full of questions. His expression was shocked and confused. "Yes, I admit I rarely come home early as you expect. That's why you're lonely at home." Then Pascal got up from above Petra, and they sat side by side. "From now on, I'll spend more time with you. No matter how important the work is, I'll prioritize you." "But how do you want to be punished, darling?" Pascal asked, cornering Petra in the car seat. He turned Petra's chin once again. Their gazes met with contrasting expressions. Petra was always cautious, while Pascal's gaze carried a hint of threat. "Pascal... I don't like being punished too harshly. What do you have in mind for my punishment?" Petra asked, curious about what was on his mind. "You will enjoy it." Pascal grinned mysteriously. Petra stiffened, finding it difficult to swallow her own saliva. *** "Ouch! Pascal!" Petra gritted her teeth. She thought Pascal was only cruel to others. But she was wrong. "You must know that after we got married, your entire body and life belong to me!" Another whip landed on Petra's waist. Pascal's sly smile accompanied by a lustful gaze. "This is the punishment if another man touches your body, my wife," Pascal whispered right into her ear. "Let go of my hand. Do you think I'm a criminal to be handcuffed?" Petra grumbled. Even though there were only two lashes on her back covered by a shirt, Petra could still feel a slight pain there. "Does it hurt?" Pascal asked with a worried expression. His expression changed quickly, like an actor in front of a camera. However, his eyes showed sincerity when looking at Petra. "No one likes pain, Pascal," Petra said after the handcuff key was released by him. Suddenly, a phone ring disturbed them in the room. Pascal immediately answered the call from his subordinate. "What! An intruder? I'll be there." Pascal hung up the call. "Where are you going? It's already late," Petra said as Pascal prepared to leave. "There's an urgent matter. You just rest. I'll be back soon." Suddenly Petra held Pascal's arm. Pascal turned to her, confused. "You said you promised to prioritize me so I wouldn't be lonely? But now you're leaving again without considering the time." How could this man be active all day long without getting tired? Pascal's busyness was truly insane. Almost twenty-four hours he wasn't at home, and this continued throughout their marriage. "Pascal, if the problem can be handled by your subordinates, then let them handle it. You need to rest. You are human, remember that." Although she had been whipped by him, Petra still showed sweet concern for Pascal. But in reality, Petra knew the problem outside that made Pascal want to leave. Now, one of her team members should be stealing data at the office. Earlier at the pub, Petra had a brief meeting with Avelino. They planned to sabotage the electronic devices in Pascal's office directly after remote hacking attempts failed. "My dear, I'm sorry I forgot about that." Pascal said sadly. "You forgot because you lack rest." She lovingly caressed Pascal's smooth cheek. "We should sleep now," Petra invited. Pascal was softened. They lay on the bed facing each other. "Never leave me, no matter what happens," Pascal mumbled sleepily, then fell deeply asleep. "I won't promise that, Pascal," Petra whispered, smiling as she stroked his face. Her phone on the nightstand was blinking. Petra checked it and was shocked to see that Liam was calling. "Why are you calling at this hour?" Petra had to whisper while talking. She was afraid of waking up Pascal, who was sleeping right beside her. "We've tried various ways to get into his computer. We need eight password codes. Do you have any ideas about this? You graduated from IT, so you must have an idea for this problem. Quick!" Liam and the others were busy typing on the computer. They were working according to their respective tasks. Some were inserting viruses into the office's electronic network, and others were digging deeper into Pascal's business information. Liam was trying to hack into Pascal's work computer in his office. But the screen only displayed blank blocks to be filled in before logging in. "What about his birthday? Family birthdays?" Petra suggested. "Already tried! None of the numbers match for logging into his computer. Hurry and help me think!" Petra knew that Liam had the best hacking skills at the institution. Liam had already exerted his abilities to penetrate Pascal's computer network defenses. To no avail. As if Pascal had layered his device security to a higher level. While the security levels of other large companies were not this tight. Liam could even easily hack their secret sites, even those of dark business moguls. "The code... What is it?" Petra was puzzled. Her mind seemed blank. "Hey! Just because I graduated in IT doesn't mean I'm a hacker." Frustrated, Petra scolded Liam instead. "Petra, we don't have much time here. Do something in his house. Maybe he has something that can give us a clue," Liam urged. "Okay." Then Petra got out of bed. She glanced briefly at Pascal, who was still closing his eyes, before sneaking out of the room. Petra went to Pascal's study. She rummaged through things on the desk, hoping to find something. "There's nothing here, Liam!" Petra growled. "Even if there were clues, I would have found them since living here!" "We are like thieves here, you know," Liam complained. "Are you wearing masks?" Petra asked, puzzled. "Of course not! We've already hacked and manipulated the CCTV here." Liam seemed to be trying repeatedly to enter codes randomly into the computer. Petra stared out the window. Her forehead furrowed deeply as she pondered the situation. A number crossed her mind that seemed impossible. "Could it be..." "The code is your birthday, darling." A raspy, deep voice breathed into Petra's ear. Petra was startled but couldn't move. Seeing the reflection in the window, Petra realized Pascal was behind her. Petra trembled, holding the phone. "So it's your birthday, Petra? Wait---What!!!" Liam's voice sounded shocked. He seemed to realize something strange about the deep voice he had just heard on the phone. Liam's face paled, as pale as Petra's current condition. ***
