Excerpt from one of 1993: For The People writer...

I hope while you are listening to the mixtape, CD, LP, digital copy, or anywhere in any music platform of 1993, I hope you are informed and aware and most of all, capable of yourself. We hope that you are in a safe place, content with what you have, not making yourself believe that you lack something that you don’t in the first place because you’re desperately trying to see what’s on the other side. I knew a lot of people who hate being themselves, and I knew less of the opposite. But just know that there are better days. If not today, then maybe tomorrow. If not tomorrow, then you just gotta wait. You keep on fighting, there is a place for someone like you. Oh, don’t. Stop that train of thought. You are here. You’re doing well. That’s great. Let’s go from here and walk the walk.  

I want you to be aware of the world that is crumbling right before our eyes. This is for the people. This is for us. Maybe we are not that powerless after all.
