MOVING ON

Love can make people do the craziest things especially when it is fresh. "Life without love is like a tree without blossoms or fruit", they say. Patty was falling deep for Joel day by day. Joel on the other hand also loved Patty and that showed in his actions even his friends were surprised that Joel could finally settle down. Yes, you heard me right, 'finally'. Joel was more of a playboy or lemme say he had a lot of girls at his disposal and Patty knew because he had told her about his past. Even when they started dating girl's were still head over heels for him. He promised Patty he had changed and Patty believed him. Patty and Joel were often seen together. Her roomies were happy for her as well as her besties. Even though Patty and Joel were now a couple, she had her limits with him. She wanted to take things slow and Joel understood. 

Examination week was approaching faster than expected. Unlike others, Patty was tired of waiting for the upcoming exams since she was well prepared. She studied with her besties and her boyfriend as well. They were all academically good. Blessed on the other hand sometimes had problems with her calculations but her besties were always there to help. Tony had adjusted to the fact that Patty was in love with someone else and he was trying hard to move on. Patty was happy because she didn't want to hurt any one. Blessed on the other hand wasn't in a relationship since she couldn't keep one. They were about to complete their first year and she has been in four relationships already. They weren't even relationships since the longest lasted for a week. She was a low-key bad girl. Studying in the library with her besties and boyfriend as usual, Patty was destructed by a message notification on her phone.

Joel♥️: Small girl watsap

Patty: I'm sitting just opposite to you so why are you texting me.

Joel♥️: why??can't I text my baby again

Patty: not when she is learning.

Joel♥️: but I miss her and I want to hug her since she wouldn't kiss me☹️

Patty: stop being childish ...can we please get back to our books before Blessed and Tony gets to know what is happening

Joel♥️: let them see us after all you are my girl. Can we spend some alone time together at my place after studies??

Patty: yes sir. Can I learn now.

Joel♥️: yes madam. I love you❤️.

Patty: I love you too. Bye.

Patty returned to her book whiles Joel stared at her with a smile on his face. After their lessons Patty excused herself from Blessed and Tony and they understood. At the apartment Kevin wasn't around but it wasn't Patty's first time there while Kevin wasn't around so she was cool. Joel collapsed in the couch immediately which caught the attention of Patty. 

"Why are you acting as if you were in the library for six hours" 

"You have no idea how tired I am. Two hours is a big deal for me. I'm hungry too"

"Okay lazy ass. Do you have anything in your kitchen I can make for you?"

"Naa...I don't think so. We've been kinda busy because of the incoming exams so we couldn't restock. Thanks babe but I will order something. I think I will get some fries. What can I get for you?"

"I will eat what you get"

"Awwww....that's my baby.

Patty eyed him with a smile. Their food was delivered and they enjoyed their meal while watching a movie. They were still engrossed in the movie after their meal when Joel broke the silence.

"I understand you want to take things slow and I don't want to rush you either but I can't help myself from kissing or touching you when we are together"

"I understand you and I know you are trying. Just dont think about it and you will be fine. I know you can. Let's change the topic"

"Okay. So what should we talk about?"

"Okayyy....so I have been thinking about pet names"

"Pet names??? For what??"

"Stop laughing. I'm serious. Every couple have pet names and I think I know what to call you"

"You c***k me up all the time. We don't need pet names. Besides I already call you 'Babe' is that not cool?"

"Okay then I will call you 'babe' too"

"Okay copy cat. Since everyone calls you Patty for short I will call you Tricia since I'm different"

"Yes sir. It's getting late and I have stuff to do in my hostel so I gotta go"

"Okay I will drop you"

"Thanks. I will get my car next semester so your days as my driver are numbered"

Joel just shrugged and they set out. Later that night Patty thought about what Joel had said about taking their relationship a step further. She didn't know if it was about time or not. All she knew was she loved him and he loved her. She trusted him too. This was her first relationship and she didn't want to mess it up. She decided to ask her besties later. The next day Blessed and Patty reported to class but Tony didn't and he hadn't called them. They tried his number but he didn't answer which was so unusual. They were worried sick and decided to visit him in his hostel after their lecture. They got to his hostel and knocked on the door for the hundredth time before the door opened. He only had his boxers on. They went passed him into the room in anger and went dumb and numb at what their eyes saw.

"When you knock on someone's door you should wait to be ushered in before you do" Tony lectured.

"Right" Patty replied out of shock and anger.

"Oh I now know why you didn't come to class. Hi and sorry for badging in" Blessed said with a smile on her face when she saw a lady covered with sheets in Tony's bed.

"Hi...eeerm...I think it's time for me to leave....."the lady in Tony's bed replied shyly while dressing up to leave.

They excused themselves for the girl to dress up. She gave Tony a kiss on his lips before leaving. Tony didn't seem to be bothered. Patty was angry because he choose s*x over lectures.

"Are you guys happy now...you just ruined a great moment" Tony uttered.

"So you didn't just have s*x with a girl in the hostel you share with someone but also missed class...wow. Patty spat out angrily.

"Says the girl who is always with her boyfriend in his apartment" Tony replied with a smirk.

"Do I smell jealousy here" Blessed uttered admist laughter.

"Why are you trying to make this about me. I don't miss lecture because of Joel and we don't even do anything when we are together. Even if we do something it's an apartment and he has his own room. You can do whatever you want but why should you miss class for s*x whiles exams is approaching" Patty lectured sadly.

"Thanks for the lecture ma'am. I won't repeat it again. How was class" Tony asked, giving up.

"Boring. I couldn't make a complete note but Patty did so you can get it from her. But Patty were you serious when you said you and Joel haven't gone far???you know what I mean" Blessed asked with interest.

"Yeah...we are just taking things slow" Patty answered.

"I hope you know what you are doing. I also hope that you don't push him away with your 'taking it slow' drama" Tony chirped in.

"Whatever. Blessed can we leave already I'm hungry" Patty said almost at the door.

"Okay..Mr man we are leaving. See you later" in Blessed's voice.

"Bye...ladies and their drama" Tony murmured.

They left and chit chatted on their way. What they saw wasn't really a big news or shock to them since Tony wasn't a 'virgin'. Patty was just surprised that even with the upcoming exams, he would miss lectures. Nobody missed lectures when exams was approaching. The lecture hall is always full a few weeks to exams.

 They were happy too that Tony had moved on.
