FRIENDS TO KEEP

"Madam please this is your room and here are your keys" said the young man who helped Patty with her luggages, distracting her from her thoughts. She tipped the man and thanked him while he left. Noticing that the door wasn't locked, Patty just knocked and entered and voila, her roommates had already reported. 

"Hi my name is Rejoice and I'm guessing you are our fourth roommate. Mmmmmm....you are very beautiful but not more than I am"

"Thanks for the compliment. I'm Patricia but you can call me Patty and no doubt you are beautiful" Patty replied with a smile. 

"Awwww, I love your smile. Anyways, I'm Gloria but you can call me Lipsy since I've got the sexy lips".

"Hi, I'm Hannah your third roommate and I'm hoping we get along pretty well"

"Why not" replied Patty.

Patty moved to an empty bed and began to unpack her luggages and also laid her bed. Night fell and Patty and her roommates couldn't sleep. It was one of those things associated with change of environment. Due to that, Rejoice, Gloria and Hannah engaged themselves in a chat while Patty on the other hand was on her phone. Sleep is actually natural and nobody can control it. They all woke up to a bright new day, wondering when they fell asleep. As fresher's they were to enjoy the rest of the week since they would only begin lectures after orientation which was in a week. 

Talking about her roommates, they were all pretty but each one and a character she was yet to find out.

Since they had nothing to do, Gloria(roommate with the sexy lips), suggested that they all go out for a walk. Patty didn't want to but she just couldn't decline her roommates first request which was harmless. They ended up in the cafeteria which was in the hostel. They got a cool space and made themselves comfortable and ordered some snacks whiles chit chatting. 

"You've been quiet since we got here, is everything okay"? Hannah asked noticing Patty's silence.

"Yeah, I'm cool. I have been meaning to ask a question though. Can I"? Patty asked.

"Why not" all three blurted out and burst into laughter afterwards.

"Okay, so I wanted to know when you guys reported to school because you chat like you've all known each other for years" Patty asked.

"It's called chemistry. Well, I was the first to report and then Gloria before Hannah and it was on the same day you did" replied Rejoice.

"That's soo cool. I hope I feel this chemistry soon too" Patty said with a smile.

"You will dear, I know your type but you soon will" in Hannah's voice.

They retired back to their room  exhausted.

  Days passed and orientation week was here. Orientation begins at 8am and it was already 6 in the morning and only Patty was up. She was literally their "alarm" since she was an early riser. They all set out, ready to be oriented. 

Time tables were out and this time, they all had different schedules with few similarities since they were all offering different programs. Patty had more of early morning lectures as compared to the rest of her roommates. Rejoice on the other hand was very happy with her department since she had a lot of time on her hands to party.

Talking about parties brings me to describing Patty's roomies.

Rejoice...mmmm....she was a very beautiful girl with a melanin dripping skin. About 5.2 feet tall. She loved to party, infact her middle name was Party. She had the body any young lady would die for. A sizeable backside and front side. She was a social science student. Even though she was hardly seen with her books, she was very intelligent. She was single( for a short period of time).

Hannah was also a very beautiful black skin girl. She was a nursing student and equally very intelligent. She was always seen solving mathematics. Hannah also had a sizeable backside but she was more hipsy than Rejoice.  Hannah was single as well.

The last but not the least was Gloria. She preferred to be called Lipsy but didn't have a problem with her being called by her first name. She was a brown skin girl with dripping melanin. She was a heath student with the dreams of becoming a Pediatrician. She on the other hand was another beauty with brains. Unlike Rejoice and Hannah, Gloria was slim but thick in the right places.

Patty and her roommates had a few things in common since they were all age mates. Even though she was an introvert they loved her. With time Patty grew fond of her roommates and they all lived like sister's. Sharing how their day went every evening became a tradition. They would tell each other everything, even the boy troubles they faced during the day and laughed over their own jokes.

Patty didn't give up on her online business. Her business was patronized on campus even more but she was able to manage the stress with her academics. She got massive supports from her roommates. They would help her package and even deliver them to her customers on days that she couldn't make it. They lived like sister's.

Patty was admired by a lot of people, both male and female. Even lecturers admired her personality. She was single and wasn't  ready to mingle. She had feelings just like any other normal lady but she just wanted to focus on her dreams. Even though she had male friends, she wasn't interested in them.

Rejoice on the other hand started dating after their first semester. From a party lover, that was kinda expected. But it was normal because, it was college, everybody was of age. 

Hannah had a crush, but didn't want to be the one to ask a guy out. Gloria on the other hand wasn't ready to be in any relationship after her previous one. She gave every bit of her heart to that guy and he just crushed it into tiny bits without any regrets.

Aside her roommates, Patty had two friends she studied with. They were program mates and they helped each other in everyway they could. Blessed and Tony became her best friends. Soo cool to have your study mates as besties right? Well they shared secrets too. Blessed and Patty didn't have a lot in common but they were cool together.

Tony was also a 'party' person but he went out mostly with his male friends. A lot of people thought Blessed was his girlfriend since they went out often. Anytime there was a party invitation, Patty would gladly decline while Blessed would gladly accept. Blessed was also a hot babe just like Patty and they always caught the attention of the crowd. Blessed loved the attention while Patty didn't. Aside their differences, Patty loved her besties wholeheartedly.
