THE FIRST KISS

Joel♥️: Hey babe I'm at your hostel.
Patty: Really.. I'm not done dressing oooo
Joel♥️: Don't worry just take your time ok.
Patty: okay hun. I hope you are comfortable in the car?
Joel♥️: oh yeah... don't worry about me I'm good. Just come when you are done
Patty: okay....I will be with you in five minutes
Patty didn't know where they were going but she was excited since she was going with Joel. She asked Joel but he only said "just relax you will know when we get there". All Patty did was nod her head in agreement. The drive was a silent one. It was when Joel drove into the parking lot that Patty saw where they were.
"We are here.. welcome to coconut groove"
"Nice place"
"Let's go in"
"Okay"
They went in and as usual Joel had booked a table specially for them. They were attended to immediately they settled. Joel couldn't take his eyes off Patty. He looked at her while she ate her food without saying anything. Patty broke the silence.
"Is anything the problem??"
"No. Why ask?"
"You've been staring at me for the past fifteen minutes without a word and you aren't eating too"
"Nevermind just get back to your food. The restaurant has a fireside at the other side so we will go there afterwards"
"Okay"
They had their meal over little chats then proceeded to the fireside.
The weather was cold but with the fire, it was amazing. It wasn't just a fireplace. The whole town could be viewed from there. It was soo amazing. They settled in one of the chairs and enjoyed the view together.
"I'm loving this place"
"I knew you would that's why I chose here"
"Thank you"
"You are welcome baby. What will you be doing during the vacation?"
"Internship. I will also handel my business but I will get a delivery person to release stress. You??"
"Cool...I have already posted my internship letters so waiting to be called in a week or two"
"That's nice..."
"It would have been nicer if you were not going far from me"
"It's just three months"
"Three months is not 'just'. Patricia you know how I feel about you"
"It's all a process I believe. Besides we will still be in touch"

They continue to talk about other things. It was almost 8pm but Joel wanted them to stay a little longer. After some few hours they decided to return since they had a trip the next day.
Joel drove Patty as usual. Joel held Patty's hand when they arrived at her hostel. He just rubbed the back of her hand staring at her. He stopped rubbing on her hands and drew closer to her, now exchanging their breathe, he closed the gab between them kissing her. Patty didn't resist but kissed him back. Joel broke away after the longest time and they exchange a few words before parting ways.
Patty couldn't stop thinking about the kiss. She wasn't herself. She didn't see that coming. A part of her liked it but another part of her asked if it was cool. Her phone rang awakening her from her thoughts. It was her Dad. She was surprised her dad had called her that late.
"Hello Dada"
"Hello my baby how are you?"
"Dada, I'm fine and I'm no longer a baby. I hope you are fine too"
"Thank God. I'm fine too and you will always be my baby. So I call to tell you that I wouldn't be able to come with your mum to pick you up tomorrow because there is an emergency at the office which I need to attend to"
"Okay Dad. It's fine."
"Okay then, I will see you tomorrow. I love you my Angel.
"Goodnight dada, I love you too"
After talking to her Dad, she still couldn't forget about the kiss. She just layed on the bed with her eyes fixated on the ceiling until she fell asleep. She woke up to her phone ringing again and it was Joel.
"Good morning sleeping beauty"
"You just ruined my good sleep. Watsap"
"You should wake up and get ready before your parents arrive"
"Okay sir. Are you done packing?"
"Yeah. I'm about to set off but I decided to call you first"
"Awww...you are soo sweet. Your journey is a long one so you need to leave early. I can't call you when I get home because you will still be driving so you call me when you get to your destination ok. Safe journey and please don't overspeed ok"
"Okay and thank you. I love you. bye..."
"I love you more...byee"
She went ahead and prepared herself for her journey. She called Blessed after she was done. Blessed had told her she was about to set off and would call her when she got home. Blessed didn't take the bus. She was traveling by flight since it was more convenient and safer than the bus. She then called Tony after.
"Small girl watsap"
"I'm hungry and mum is not here yet"
"Have you heard from her yet?"
"Yeah. She called to say she was in town but she will get here in an hour time. I'm sure she wants to greet her Aunt and cousins in town"
"Okay. Then let's go to the cafeteria because I'm also hungry"
"Ok. I'm missing Blessed already"
"Yhyh same here"
They got to the cafeteria and had their breakfast. Her mum called to say she was finally there. Patty with the help of Tony packed their luggage in the car. Patty rushed into her mum's arms.
"I miss you mum"
"I miss you too young lady. Tony how are you doing" her mum asked breaking away from Patty to give Tony a hug.
"I'm fine mum" Tony replied.
"I'm sorry I kept you guys waiting. I had to say hello to my family here since I was in town" Patty's mum said breaking away from Tony.
"I thought as much" Patty replied.
"It's rather unfortunate that I couldn't meet your boyfriend" Patty's mum said to her with interest.
"Mum I think we should get going. Accra traffick is a real deal" Patty said while getting in the backseat with Tony.
Patty knew her mum soo well and changed the topic before she any more questions. Their journey was a smooth one. Patty's mum asked them a few questions about their exams and how their semester was. She also asked a few questions about Joel since she was yet to meet him. About an hour into their journey Patty was fast asleep. She was one of those who like to sleep while journeying. She woke up when they had already gotten to Accra.
"We are in Accra... meaning I slept for more than an hour" she said surprised.
"I have told you to stop sleeping while traveling but you have refused. I guess you will stop when you get your own car since you will be driving yourself" her mum said with her eyes fixed on the road.
"I guess it's because I didn't sleep early last night" Patty replied defensively.
"You always have an excuse for sleeping while traveling. Tony let's get you home first okay. I will love to meet your parents too if that's okay by you " Patty's mum said to Tony.
"That would be nice mum" Tony replied.
"Cool. I get to meet her too for the first time" Patty said with a wink.
They went dead silence again until they got to Tony's house. It was a very beautiful house. They got out of the car and Tony got his bag. They went inside together to meet Tony's family. Tony's younger sister rushed to give him a hug and took his luggage. His parents welcomed him and his guest and ushered them to sit. Tony introduced Patty and her mum to his parents.
TONY'S DAD: Nice meeting you and welcome to our house.
PATTY'S MUM: thank you.
TONY'S MUM: Patty come and sit beside me. I have heard a lot about you and you are very beautiful.
PATTY: thank you mum. I'm happy to finally meet you and Daddy too.
TONY'S MUM: please what can we offer you? Sorry for my bad manners I'm just so happy to finally meet your daughter.
PATTY'S MUM: oh don't worry we are fine. I just wanted us to meet since I was bringing Tony home.
TONY'S DAD: that's soo nice of you. I didn't know he would be coming with you. He asked me not to pick him up because he is now a man so I let him. You know how these kids are.
PATTY'S MUM: Oh yes I understand and it's good. This is the last I'm also driving Patty to and from school. They are growing up and they have to learn to do certain things by themselves.
TONY'S MUM: That's true. Meet my daughter Mary.
PATTY'S MUM: how are you my dear.
MARY: I'm fine ma'am
PATTY'S MUM: nice to meet you ones again. We have to leave now.
Patty and her mum exchange contacts with Tony's family and finally set to get to their home.
