Ambiguity

"Don’t go blabbing about this. I’ve already broken protocol!"The young officer reminded Ye Sha, though he didn’t seem too worried about the matter. "I didn’t catch your name. Let’s be friends!" Ye Sha smiled, extending a friendly hand. "I’m Wang Yanjin. Nice to meet you!" Officer Wang, cheerful and easygoing, shook his hand warmly. The two began building a rapport. Wang Yanjin proceeded to ask about the details of what had happened in the gym and Ye Sha’s specific strategies for escaping. Since the police were working closely with the Bureau of Anomaly Slayers, learning and documenting effective methods for dealing with anomalies could potentially save lives in the future. Two bodies were carried out, and the gym was officially sealed off. For now, the case was temporarily closed, as even the Bureau of Anomaly Slayers had failed to locate the source of the eerie broadcast. The police arranged for the survivors to be transported to hospitals or taken home. Wang Yanjin checked in with Ye Sha, offering to drive him back. "I rode my e-bike here, so I need to take it back. Thanks, though!"Ye Sha politely declined. The two had exchanged numbers earlier, feeling a mutual sense of camaraderie. "Bye-bye!" Wang Yanjin waved goodbye from his car before driving off in the police vehicle. The area was now under strict lockdown, with police and personnel from the Bureau of Anomaly Slayers stationed to guard the site, prohibiting all entry and exit. Liu Yuning stood by, her expression heavy as she stared at her commercial building. The value of her property had plummeted overnight—an unexpected disaster! "Boss, where are you planning to go? I can give you a ride."Ye Sha walked over, pushing his e-bike, and asked. "I have nowhere to go. Might as well sleep on the streets!"Liu Yuning’s beautiful eyes betrayed her helplessness. In Jiangyang City, this building was her only property. Unless she flew to another city, she had no place to stay—her passport and ID were all inside the building. All she had with her was a phone. "Boss, you could stay at a hotel!"Ye Sha blurted out, his suggestion completely devoid of ulterior motives—true ironclad straight-man logic. "But I’m scared! After what happened with the anomaly, how could I dare stay alone?"Liu Yuning cast a sly glance at the handsome young man, her thoughts shifting as she deliberately began to act coy. "What should we do, then?"Ye Sha racked his brain. He couldn’t just leave his boss stranded and alone. "Unless there’s a brave and capable man by my side, I won’t feel safe!"Liu Yuning’s hint was as obvious as it could get. Even someone as oblivious as her usually strong and independent demeanor couldn’t help but feel a little shy. "..."Ye Sha might have been dense, but he wasn’t stupid. He immediately understood her implication. Composing himself, he said earnestly, "Boss, you’re welcome to stay at my place." "Hehe, how could I impose?"Despite her words, Liu Yuning wasted no time hopping onto the backseat of Ye Sha’s e-bike. Wrapping her arms around his waist, she leaned against his back, her cheeks flushed crimson. The faint blush only enhanced her allure. "So soft... so warm," Ye Sha couldn’t help but think as he revved the engine. The e-bike sputtered along as they rode toward his home. "Wow, so clean! I didn’t expect that from a guy—living in such a tidy place!"Liu Yuning happily explored the apartment, completely unfazed by her recent brush with an anomaly. She had a big heart—or, well... other attributes that were also big. It was now late afternoon, nearing dinnertime. Ye Sha opened his phone to order takeout. Normally, he cooked for himself to maintain a strict diet for his fitness routine. However, the malevolent ghost from last night had crawled out of the kitchen drain, leaving it in complete disarray. Cooking was out of the question. Speaking of that ghost, after Ye Sha had crushed it, the creature dissolved into black smoke and seeped into his werewolf body. It seemed to have slightly increased his strength, though Ye Sha hadn’t had the chance to investigate further due to the tense circumstances. "Boss, what do you feel like eating? I’m ordering takeout."Ye Sha held up his phone, asking Liu Yuning as he browsed a budget-friendly eatery with good reviews. "What’s this? Let me treat you to something better!"Liu Yuning leaned over, frowning as she closed the app on his phone. She pulled out her own phone and started tapping away. The app she was using seemed much more upscale, likely a platform for high-end restaurants. "Boss, you’re too generous!"Ye Sha made a polite remark, but he couldn’t help noticing that Liu Yuning was leaning against him while placing the order. They were sitting on the same chair, their proximity undeniably intimate. Earlier that day, Ye Sha had thrown his broken sofa into the trash and temporarily set up two chairs in its place. "Boss... there’s another chair over there!"Ye Sha hinted desperately. His fiery boss was still wearing her snug, form-fitting workout outfit, and their closeness was starting to feel like a roaring blaze to him. No—a full-on wildfire! "I think this is fine. It’s comfy!"Feigning innocence, Liu Yuning remained in place, even deliberately brushing her "peaks" against Ye Sha’s arm as she continued scrolling through the menu.
