It has been 13098 years since recorded history began in Auvia and an archeological dig has recently uncovered some interesting insight into the historical event known as "The Fall" that happened in the 2200's. A bottle neck event almost wiped out the known world with only small pockets of people that managed to survive complete societal collapse. The land that once knew races of Dwarves, Elves and other beautiful and varied races is now dominated by Humans, many people discount that these other races of people even existed and assume that history was embellished to fit a narrative, however some anthropologists argue that "Humans" as they exist today are a hybridized species that encorporate DNA of each of these constituent races after countless centuries of inter-breeding. The pinpoint of when this occurred is still a topic of discussion for anthropologists to date, but records unearthed from the dig imply that Humans were the dominant race at the time.

Karcaida is an 18 year old girl from Guinen City in the fictional world of Auvia, a land steeped in strange heritage. Out for a stroll with her baby brother Vance, she happens upon a vicious attack and survive-or-die instincts kick in as she is forced to make some tough decisions to protect her beloved brother.

Prologue
Transcript kindly translated from Old Auvian by ancient anthropologist and contributor to the Guild: Hanorah Juisk Professor Barton’s Official Video Journal Recording: Salvaged 16th October 13098 Date: 28/09/2230 Subject: D Synthesis: Third Sequential # 29 Participants' Full Name: Allister Gurn Title: Mr Condition(s): Alzheimer s, Dementia, Depression, Psycho-affective Disorder Age: 82 Physical s*x: Male Gender Pronouns: He/His/Him Physical Fitness: Impeccable Physique: Lean/Muscular Notes: Mr Gurn is a volunteer who donated his body to science on the onset of his diagnosis of his Alzheimer s/Dementia but has been known to the Mental Health Crisis team of Guinen for many years before the wars with Sheshead where he was conscripted and promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. On the conclusion of the war, he settled on a farm in rural Grennhills at the foot of the mountain range. Despite being elderly, his body seems able to withstand the hypothermia that needs to be induced and proves positive results with a 80% chance that he will be able to survive the procedure. Gurn was made aware of the substantial risk of death and has signed many contracts at the onset of his disease that state he accepts the risk in order to retain his memories. If all goes well; Subject D-3.29 survives with his mental faculties stabilized and with cognitive therapy will begin to rehabilitate. If the solution is following the null hypothesis then no statistical difference will be observed and the subject will continue to decline. As stated, Gurn has signed a waiver to explain that he understood for what he has volunteered. Vlog Diary dated from before The Great Fall, user identifiaction unknown: If you have found this [video] then I can only assume that there has been reason to unearth the past, I joined Barton Medical to make a difference. I had only one hope; to hand back the lives of those who would have it robbed of them from the horrors of old age. We found something, something from the ancient world. It was buried deep under the Broll Mountain, it positively hummed with energy, but we had no way to tap it. Until about 10 years ago, when an exceptional young woman was brought into our facility. Her mind was scrambled, and yet she had a power, it was like an aura around her, but honestly it made us all physically sick to be around her. Like a magnetic repulsion, anyone who got too close began to feel nauseous, people who had the willpower to touch her skin would actually heave and retch. She was.. .off. Unnatural. Her family had signed the consent forms to get to the bottom of her mysterious illness, onset as the girl came into puberty. People who stayed too long around her became seriously ill, one or two people even died. Coincidence or superstition, the other interns were afraid of her and honestly so am I. Because when she broke quarantine and got loose, we found her in the morgue. Not because she had triggered alarms or because anyone noticed her, but because when we found her, the dead were screaming. I know it sounds crazy, but dead men and women. Dead for days. Cadavers. Some without organs. Just screaming. Those without the anatomy or in bits remained silent, with awful grimace on their faces. Poppy Mandletree. If something awful happens. If you find this and the world has gone to hell, just know that it was her. I am not sure how, and I am not sure why, but if the end of the world is coming then she is to blame.
