Alpha Decision

P.O.V Alpha Oscar “What is the meaning of this?” I throw a letter of challenge to my Beta and Gamma, they read the letter, and look at me. the silence continued after they read it. Strange, there must be something else.  “Are you sure that the encounter with the rogues, was only that?”  “Yes Alpha, they trespassed,  Pacey and Olivia were on a run when they found them, so they chased them out.” My Gamma answered.  “It’s just a coincidence then, that they are no longer part of this pack.” His eyes widened.  “What does this mean?” That must be it.  “They left this night, I sense the connection break they must already be on another pack.” I knew that all the pack sensed a loss somehow, but as their Alpha, I can tell exactly who left.   “Why they leave, they found each other on the Ball, there is no reason for them to leave!” My Gamma stated.  “I did not agree with them together. That Mate thing is just a way to weaken the pack.” I won’t get back on my beliefs for anyone, especially a guard that once was lost for us all.  “Alpha you can’t think…”  “Silence.” Alpha voice. “I am your Alpha, my word is final.” I see their discomfort in the chairs.   “Yes, Alpha.” They both answer. Good. I know what is best for my pack.  “What do we know about the Master of Rogues?” “We know he has been recruiting rogues for the past years since he got his wolf and claimed himself the Alpha of the Dark Moon Pack, but the Council does not approve of his methods.” This time was my Beta giving me information.  “Do we know what support he has?”  He picks up his phone and checks for something. “Last time we went to the council he had over 5.000 pack members.”  Getting up from my chair I stood tall looking at them.  “What? And the council did nothing about it? That is a future disaster, a crazy wolf thinking that is an Alpha reuniting wolves.”  My Beta continued. “Since the Alpha seats are all occupied, they just dismissed them.” I sat down again thinking.  “Why is he targeting us?” “Maybe he is not aware that we have an alliance with Lowlands Pack, and think we are easy to deal with.” Thinking of all the information so far, something still seems off.  “If he is after my spot has Alpha, why not just challenge me, why declare war?”  “Since he is not a recognized Alpha, he can’t do a challenge. If I am not mistaken he is also a rogue, maybe only ranking gamma, or lower, so a direct challenge, he may have lost.” My Beta was now looking at me, the Gamma nodded his head. It made me angry so a no for good Wolf, daring to take my pack.   “A low-ranking rogue of a wolf, trying to take my pack away. We need to find more about it. We need to know what we are counting for in case of a war.”  “Alpha why not report to the council first, see what they can do?” My Gamma is always a right to do man.  “What do you think those old ones that only look to their fortune and place in the human world do?” Yes, I disliked them. They think that they are above all of us.   “We still need to address them, a war in our situation in the world might bring some unwanted attention from the humans, the council will not want that.”  I sigh, that is true.  “I don’t want to deal with them, but if I have to report this to them, I will do it right now. For now, is all, you can leave to take care of finding information about this Dark Moon Pack of his.”  They gave a small nod with a yes, Alpha, and left my office.  Something was ticking me off, but first. I went to my computer and directed an email to the council, after sending it, I picked the letter again and read it. “Dear Alpha Oscar, the current leader of Lagoona Pack, this letter is to announce the war between our packs in one week counting from next Friday, be prepared because I know I have been since my youngest years. Sincerely, Alpha Abigor Dark, from the Dark Moon Pack. P.S. Destination will be on your lands, on all of them, we are the night.” I picked up the envelope and there was another letter, this one was the one that was making my head spin. “This letter is only for your eyes, you have something I want, if you give it willingly, I will evaluate if the war is really necessary. Hope you have consideration to this request since when I was 11, you didn’t have any for a small boy rogue, that just wanted a home.  The Boy on the Lake House. “ This made me remember when Pacey came that night asking for his place back, I was happy to have my friend back, and accepted, we just needed to pass through the Commander. He asked me if I could bring someone else with him, a small rogue boy, I denied it, no rogue in this pack, they already killed too many, he pleaded for the boy, saying that it will stay in the house with him, but I refused. I have a strict pack if a rogue comes in, then another, and another. I never thought that boy would live this long to make me fear my pack, that is why I thought about  Pacey, him leaving the pack and the letter is too much for coincidence, but since Beta told me that the pack is already from years ago, I still have something bothering me. The rogue on the forest, Pacey and his mate, then the challenge, something was off, but I could not figure out what. Maybe focusing on something else will help, yes, some training. I still need to alert the Lowlands Pack, I had to do that alliance with them because the warriors are becoming weak, and fewer of them are being born, so I need to recruit omegas to be guards and warriors, they are too weak. “I hate that pack, that Luna of them always thinking she is above Alpha. The other alternative was the NightFall Pack, they have a presence in the council and rejected it when I went to try to remove that child from my pack, answering that my pack was small and I needed all of my pack members.” GROWL  “All of them are worthless packs, we are the greatest pack. I just need more warriors, my idea with the Lowlands pack is to mate mine with theirs, they have a great warrior front.” I heard a knock on the door, my son got inside. He is the image of me, already found a Luna that does want he wants whenever he wants, that’s how this should be, they always under us, never on top, they only serve for our carnal pleasures for our stress of being the Alpha, not a b**ch with ideas, like if she was an Alpha. “Need anything son?” I point at the chair for him to sit down.  “I saw Gamma near the scouts, anything the matter?” He sits on the chair.  “We got a letter of Challenge to a war.” His eyes widened. “Who will ever be in a war with us, it was a council letter?”  I growled saying, “a rogue.” He twisted his nose at my answer, the same I did when I saw the letter in my office this morning. I picked up the letters and pushed them for him to read. He sits down in front of my desk, and starts reading first the normal challenge letter, and then the second letter, and his eyes wide at the second. “What does it mean we have something he wants?”  I responded looking at some other papers on the desk. “The pack.”  Looking at me.  “And this that you rejected him in the pack.” I got my head off the papers looking at him.  “When Pacey got back, he talked about a rogue, that he was helping, a boy, and wanted me to accept him in the pack.” He nodded his head. “That is stupid, a rogue now, then other and other and the pack will be filthy.” The same thought I had back then, that is my son, I never was so proud of him. “Son, if anything happens to me, you are the right Alpha of this pack, not some rogue.” Looking at me he swallowed hard and nodded.  “This was the night that Pacey came to ask you to come back.” I nodded.  “Did Pacey know Allena at that time?” I look at him, why bring that crazy girl to the conversation now.  “Why do you ask that?” He seems to be recalling something.  “The next morning when Pacey got to the Packhouse, we were leaving for school, I saw her talking to him.” Then it all made sense, that crazy girl, Pacey, and his Mate, was set up to make the pack disbelieve in me, that this rogue could come and take the pack.  “Are you sure you saw her talking to him?” He nodded.  “She seems to talk to him at ease like she knows him already.” Pacey has been in the woods far away from us.  “Allena never met Pacey before he came to the packhouse, she was not born when the rogue attacks occur, and Pacey has been in the forest after he lost his mate.”  “Aleena always spent time in the forest, picking flowers, she always said.” My mind was working, she could be a spy, even if she was too little at that time, by the time she grew up. She was so crazy about that Destined Mates thing. Yes, yes, she wanted revenge, she and Pacey and that Rogue Master are working together. “She is a traitor. Bring her to me.” He jumped for the chair with a smile on his face and went to get her.  “Yes, she is the one, it’s all her fault, she is the one he wants, his spy, is not me, it was always her. I knew she was troubled, but the council never approved of me closing her, now I have proof.” Finally, I will be free of that child.
