I was not incredibly happy to escort Luna Mikaela, after what happened with her mate Alpha Glen, but maybe it was a way to see what they are planning.

“She will be happy to help you, Luna Mikaela.” I send her a death glare, but she just gave me a Mom look, like behave. Sight “Please follow me, Luna.”

We went in silence to the floor bathroom, the biggest in packhouse it has 3 stalls, a powder room, cylindrical benches in the corner for the companies to sat down, while the others powder the nose. After I got in, with Luna behind me, I saw all the stalls are free, then circle the Luna and closed the door. She looked at me like she was expecting me to do that.

“Luna Mikaela, I do not mean to be disrespectable, but can you please tell me what is your mate doing, putting me in this situation?” I turn to her the last almost screaming the last part.

She sat on one of the benches and pointed at the one next to her so that I can sit.

“I will stand if you don’t mind.” I started pacing back and forth.

“You know, you are here not nice to him also.” I stop and look at her. “What do you mean?” She makes her stand a little more comfortable. 

“He came back from the pack reunion and his Beta came in with a girl. When I asked him, he told me that the Beta found a mate. I did not believe him, Brian was still very confused, although with chosen mates we do not have the same overwhelming feeling of loss, you know since the pairs are made from the same year, they all know each other since childhood, he was very infatuated by her. After her loss, he closed himself, he did all the work a Beta should do or even more sometimes, he always said that better to do the work and let the Alpha enjoy his mate, while its time for it, that the best memories are the ones that stay with us, and never once looked at another woman.”

“I don’t understand, what?” She put her hand in the air pointing at me.  “Let me finish, you like interrupting,” She waited for me to nod. “When he came home Brian was a new man, a refreshed man, it was different, everyone could see the bond between them. My grandmother once gave me a big talk, about the Destined Mate, it was at my wedding, I was already mated, but we decided to do a traditional wedding to satisfy my grandmother, she told me, that once the Moon Goddess Mate is found everyone could see the bond, she was happy that I found someone that takes care of me, but she often told me that the bond makes everything stronger. I sense that in Brian, I knew he had found his destined mate, I was happy for him. But, Glen, would not answer my question, I asked several times here did he found her, he would avoid the question it was frustrating, then I decided if he was going to keep things from me, I was not going to be with him, that scared him a bit to confess, that he make a pack vow. I got scared a vow in the name of the pack is something serious, then he told me, but maybe she can tell you.”

“Ginny was very protective of her life savior as she told me several times, I did not get anything out of her also, then I decided to take the lead. I know about Destined Mates, I know how they are important to us, and I now know there is still a chance to find the mates of our pack members, for the ones that are looking and for the ones that lost theirs. And I came up with this plan.”

My mouth was open. “This is your plan?”  She nodded. “I talked to Glen explaining what I knew about destined mates pleading that I want that for my pack members, I now this was what the alpha’s community decided, but if there is still a chance to see another pack member as happy as Brian, I would want to try it. He just nodded his head to me, but since I did not know what happened, I asked him, if there was any way we can find it the same way Brian found it, and then he told me about the Chosen Ball in this pack that way I found out that it happens here.”

‘Sneaky Luna.’

“It was not easy getting something from him without breaking the vow. He contacted your Alpha and asked about this all, since Alpha Oscar was very pleased because this year the numbers would leave someone outside, making me suspicious, that was the very first time I heard about a pack with uneven numbers. I asked your Alpha over the phone call, if that was usual in their pack, he went silent and told that only happened that year, when I looked at Glen he was also amazed he asked, if the person left was girl or boy, which made me look at him, then he explained it would be better to know that when he prepared the list he would be fair to that person also. I saw something in him like he knew something so I paid attention to the answer, after a few minutes, probably mind linking someone, he spoke “it’s a girl, our gamma had twins, she is the one left.”

Glen's eyes were a mist of fury and also hope when he heard that, and that’s how I found out, that the girl has the one that helped Brian. I am not very smart, but I can read my husband very well. When the call ended, I confronted him, and he did not deny it. But he is very devoted to his vows, the conversation ended on that call. I am here with the girl I presume it is the one responsible for Brian finding his Destined Mate.”

“This all was just to meet me, you two put me in a position where I must meet someone I do not know and do not want as a chosen mate just to meet me. You could have just sent an invite.” I was out of myself.

“I did this, for you to tell me, how did you know Ginny was mated to Brian, because of the potion, they could not have smelled one another.” I was stunned. “They touched each other,” I stopped. “Wait, what potion?” She seems to have realized that she said something she should not have.  “You are the gamma daughter and do not know about the potion? That is for your parents to tell you about it.”  

Thinking for a while.

“Let us do a trade. I will learn about the potion, and when I do I will act surprised.” She raised a brow at me. “If you tell me what is that potion about, I will tell you about the Destined Mate. Deal?” She stood up. “I cannot do that, your parents.” I waved my hand like it is nothing important.  “My parents will tell me later one, maybe after the Ball, but I need to know now.” She looked at me, curiosity was all over her aura. “How do I trust you will tell me anything?”

“If you do as Alpha Glen did and vow for your pack, I will tell you first mine.” I fidget, sharing too much again.

We jump when someone knocks on the door. “Luna Mikaela, Alpha Glen asked to look for you. Luna Mikaela's mind linking someone, and everything went quiet. “I mind link Glen, to tell that I am fine, the guard will stay at the door saying to use the other bathroom, that this is taken, so we can talk without any interruption.”

I got my private Mind Link. ‘Sis, you are taking too long everything fine. Just saw Alpha Glen send a guard looking for his Luna.’

‘Am fine, just cover for me, I may find out why the mates cannot smell each other.’ I sense him tense. ‘You Sure?’ My brother my protector. ‘Yes.’

‘Tell me Later.’ Got a better idea. ‘Better, keep your second mind link to me open, like we did when we were kids, so you can listen to everything, better than explaining after.’

“I Luna Mikaela promise by the Lowlands Pack that this conversation will only exist in this time, at this hour and no more.”

I sight

“I can smell the Mate Bond.” She just frowned at me. “That is not possible.” What is the problem in believing in this? “My wolf can smell it too.” She seems surprised. “Your wolf too?” Nodded. “Do you mind explaining?” She sits down again and gives me her full attention.

“Hm, I can smell two scents, I investigated and found, that one of the scents is our scent, and the other is the one that connects us to our other half. When I smell the same scent I know that they are destined mates.” Her hands were on her lap.  “If you can find the destined mates, then why in hell in you pack giving this Chosen Mate Ball? They should be doing a Mate Ball like the originals.” I take a deep breath.

“They do not believe in me.” Her mouth hand open. “Are they stupid? We need to tell them.” She got up again and was going to the door when I pick her arm up. “You made a vow. You cannot tell anyone.” She stopped, I could see she was angry. “Why?” I was happy someone was angry on my behalf but, “ you saw what happened when I tried to talk, is the same thing since I was young, since the first time I told them, they do not believe in me.” She tried to argue.  “We have proof, we have Brian and Ginny.” I reason with her. “They will just say that it was a coincidence, and put me in the cells.” She choked listening to my words. After a few seconds of silence.

“That is why you made Glen vow?” I nodded. “Ok, I won’t tell anyone else. We have been talking and I don’t even know your name.” Does she want to know my name? “Allena.”  She tells smiling. “Did you know that your name means honest? It’s a perfect name for you.”I look at her weirdly.

“Now that you know my secret, what is that potion you were talking about.” She Walks past me again and sits down.

“You know the story about the war between Humans and Werewolves?” I nod, I remember from history class. “We not only had to hide who we are but also any trace of werewolves existing. There was always some human that found a pack, we do not know how, only that it could have been related to your scent.” I listen to her words, my eyes wide, to our scents. “The witches that help us escape also did a potion that we spray on your self’s every time we go to the human part, werewolves got too suspicious, so we started using also when we go out to pack meetings, or other lands since we never found out how they tracked us, we started being extra careful, you know the rest.”

“Yes, limited pack presence, limited communication, limited options to find your mate besides your pack. No wonder we can’t find them, we are in a pack jail.”

She looks at me. “That makes sense. Then the Moon Goddess send us you.” She was looking at me with love and hope.

I looked down and blushed.

“That is why they did not sense each other, I understand Brian, but Ginny was without a scent to him.” I snapped my head up “Maybe she was working in the Pack House before the meeting? Everyone that is working is sprayed with it.” I frowned then remember something.

“Wait, Mom gave me a new perfume right before the pack meeting she told me is to use every time. I found it strange that I could not scent the perfume and thought that maybe it was my nose. “

‘Dad also gave me a perfume that day.’

“That is the potion, we cannot tell all the pack, but we must protect them also. But you can smell the scent even with the potion, you smelled Brian.” I should not be able to smell them right? “Yes, and I can scent you too.” Her eyes widen looking at me.

“Daisy, Mango, and Peach." She looks at me, mouth wide. She opens her mouth a lot. “How come I have three scents, you said it was two.” I think about that. “You are chosen mates, you have your scent and your mate scent, but I cannot tell what yours is and what his.” She blushed at this. “I am the peach, his mango.” I look with curiosity at her.

“How do you know that?” She blushed harder. “He calls me peachy. I smell mango on him.”

“OOHH” ‘Sis, mom looking for you, I can’t stall anymore.’

“We need to go, my mom looking for me.” I help her get up. “Let’s go then.”

I was opening the door when she stopped me. “Aleena whatever happens on that Ball, you are safe with us.” I blink at her and smile. “Thank you.”

“Finally, Mom was almost having a fit because you were lost forever. “Alan was near the back door. “Let’s go eat, I am hungry.” I roll my eyes at mom. “Me also.” Allan gives his arms to use. “Let’s go ladies.” We link at his arm, one each side, once we got to the barbeque, Luna went to Glen side, because he was about to pounce my brother with his eyes.
