Flash Back - Second Part

We left for the packhouse. The reunion must be almost over since it was only so to see if everyone had news about attacks, organize the patrols that they do not, cross one another, etc. You know alliance things. We arrived just in time to hear the door of the office slide open and everyone coming down the stairs, my mother gave us a where have you been look, we did your sorry look the best we can. After they got in the SUV and drove away, I minded Ginny. Me and my brother excused us, and run to the woods, my father and mother looked at one another like what is the matter with those two. We took our clothes off, shifted and ran as fast as we could go to the spot to meet Ginny, she arrived a few minutes after us. We all shifted to humans, got clothes, and waited, as soon as we heard the SUV’S in the curve before the place we were at, “Stay here Ginny, I will mind link you to come out when it is safe.” We got to the place.  “Hope you know what you are doing Aleena.” I was looking at the road. “I know, they both have a scent of oranges.”  Standing in the middle of the road waiting for the SUV. Once they were near the depression they slowed down and took notice of us. All three stopped and seeing it was just us kids, every warrior got out of the car and surrounded us. “What are the two kids of the 3  in command of the Lagoona Pack doing in our way? “Alpha Glen got up to us. “We mean no harm, we...” I interrupted Alan. “I need to talk to your Beta.” He mind-link me a facepalm.  “Why do you need to talk to him?” Alpha Glen's authority was booming in his voice.  “Alpha Glen I am sorry for the way my sister spoked,” Alan said in the most respectable voice, he sensed the Alpha power in the words. “What I must talk about is only with him.” I spat, putting my hands over my chest. Alpha aura never got to me.  “You will only talk to my Beta if I allow it. We don't have secrets in our pack, although it seems you have in yours, should I call you father?” I almost panic. “No. If I tell you, will you promise to never say anything to anyone?” He was losing patience. “I don’t have to promise anything my patient is already in a thin line, young lady.” My voice was now of terror and desperation, “You must promise, Alpha promise for all your pack.” Beta Brian came to his side, “What will happen to you if we tell someone?” looking at the Alpha like ‘let’s see’. “You are the Beta. What I am about to tell you and show you, will change your life for the better. But if your Alpha” I glared at him, “tells anyone I will be put in the cells, will you listen to me?” His eyebrow shot up. “What can be so good to me but so bad to you if we tell?” I look at Alpha Glen. “Do you promise?” He looks at his Beta that shrugs his shoulders like we have nothing to lose. He then sights. “I promise by the Lowlands Pack that this conversation will only exist in this time, at this hour and no more.” I smile with hope. “Thank you, Alpha Glen! I knew you were all talk.” He glared at me. “Do not push it, young lady.” The Beta took one step forward. “What do you want to talk with me about, you can now say in front of everybody.” I smiled with all I have. “I found your Destined Mate.” After a few seconds, everyone started laughing. “That is a Myth.” Alpha Glen said between laughs. “No is true my sister can scent the Mate bond, more like she can smell it.” My brother tried to help me. “Youngers, we like a good prank as everyone else, but we must go.” Beta Brian was turning to get to the car and Alpha Glen also.  “Wait is true, I can show you.” They all looked at me as if I had two heads. I mind linked Ginny to come up to us, and she came fragile as always with her head down. They all looked at her, and Beta Brian kept staring. “You know how the Mate Bond works right?” I asked them, but they all seem like not knowing. “Once a Destined Mate is in the same room as you, you capture her or his unique scent, and your wolf starts to become agitated because that scent makes him anxious to meet his mate.” I sight. I see everyone sniffing the air, but no one seems to understand. “I don’t smell anything.” Beta Brian tells looking at me. I touch Ginny.  “Ginny, do you smell anything?” She then sniffs the air and nods a no. “So, that’s it, you got it, wrong young lady, Destined Mates are a myth.” Alpha Glen victoriously crossed his arms. “No, it is not possible if the scents are the same, they both smell like oranges.” I was thinking aloud.  “Aleena maybe this time you got it wrong.” Alan put his arms around my shoulder.  I looked at him. “No, I am sure Alan, please believe me.” He nodded.  Everyone was going to the cars when I remembered something. “Wait, Alpha Glen, please let me try one more thing, if this does not work, you can go, and I will never bother you again, please.” I gave one step forward. “He can’t smell her, what more do you want to do. “Alpha Glen sights turning at me again. #Even if I have a chance of helping someone to be happy, let me try please.” He shrugged and looked at Beta Brian. “It’s up to you.” The Beta breathes slowly. “What do you want to do more?” I started remembering what I read in the book.  “When in a large crowd beside the scent there is another way to find your Destined Mate, you touch her or him. The writings say that at the touch you both should feel the sparks of the bond, and your wolf will recognize.” He did not seem to believe me.  “You want me to do what?” I pick up Ginny's face and look in her eyes, “Ginny, trust me.” she nods “Both of you reach your hands to one another and touch the palms.” I push Ginny to the center she was trembling when she put her arms to the front and her palms up, waiting. The Beta eyes were glued at her and stepped forward to put his arms forward touching the shaking hands of Ginny. After that, they both locked eyes with one another, we could see a bond being made, and suddenly they both shouted: “MATE. MINE” He picked Ginny in his arms. He was so happy like nothing that I have ever seen in the Chosen Mates, it was real, it was genuine. “Brian are you sure.” Alpha Glen did not approach them not to interrupt.  “I found her, I never, ever… I am sorry for not finding you sooner.” Looking at Ginny with love. She just blushed. And then we heard. “Do you want me?” Coming from her mouth. He got confused. “Of course, I want you, you are my other half. I would die if you leave me.” She smiled. “I will never leave you.” Then she froze and looked at me. “What are we going to say to the others?” Alpha Glen got closer to them. “We just go back and tell them you are coming with us because you are his mate.” Congratulating them. I Shouted “NO.” He looked strangely at me. “Why not?” I was panicking.  “You promise, nothing that happens here can be told elsewhere.” He got near me. “Why not?” I lower my gaze with fear. “My Alpha will put me in the cells if I disobey his orders.” Alan also spoke. “Alpha Glen you did promise by your pack.” Remembering the promise. “Very well, so what do you suggest we do?” I was thinking hard. Then I remember something. “Ginny, you have family in the Plainfield Pack?” That might work. “Yes, Miss.” I started pacing back and forth, then stopped. “Write a letter now, saying that you had a family matter to attend the pack. Later you can send a letter saying that you found your Mate and are staying with him, asking for the approval of your Alpha. That way they cannot backtrack to me.” She looked worried. “Miss, and my things?” I looked at Alan. “While you write the ticket Alan can go and grab the things you need like if it was for a trip. After the second letter, someone from Alpha Glen Pack can come and pick up the rest.  “Sounds like a plan, pumpkin, I have some material in the SUV, I go get for you.” Beta Brian gave a kiss on her forehead. She just nodded at him. Alan waited for the letter and went to shift to get her bag. She told him she had a preset case, in case she needs to take cover, that it was already packed. We all looked at her, but it seems it was a conversation for her and her Mate and not us. After everything is done, we say our goodbyes to Ginny, and she goes up in the SUV with Brian. “How can I repay you for what you did?” Alpha Glen came up to me humbler than before. “Don’t talk to anyone about it, and if someday I can no longer be in this pack because of this, please don’t leave me a rogue.” I look at him with hope. Alen put his arm around my shoulders for comfort and kissed me on the head. “Sis, you are never going to be a rogue, I will not let it.” I just look up at him. “You can’t fight an Alpha, I rather leave the pack, than let you take your life for me.” Alpha Glen cleared his throat. “Young lady, you will always be welcome in my pack, that is a promise.” I gave a little bow and Alan also.  “Thank You, Alpha.” They left, we got back to the pack. Once we enter the packhouse. “You two in the breakfast area now.” Mom shouts. We looked at each other and went to the Breakfast area. Is a different area from the Dining area, because is a big island in the middle of a second kitchen, that is used to grab something to eat and is near the Lounge area, where we play, watch movies and so on. “Where did you run off to?” She was using that mother's voice. We felt the chill.  “We just went for a run, being stuffed inside the packhouse, were making our wolves on the edge.” Alan made the excuse.  “You never needed to do that before.” Her eyes were scanning to see if we are lying. “Maybe growing up, you know, near 17,” I say, trying to look convincing. “The border pack guards mind linked us that the SUV was late arriving at the border, you would not know anything about this?” My father came up and stood next to my mother.  “Why would we?” Alan fled ignorance and so did I. “Because when they arrived said that they had a little trouble passing a certain area because one of the drivers was a little off and did not see the depression on the road.” We both shrugged. “You have your answer there, that depression on the road is not easy to be spotted,” I said, thinking about it. He just looked at us with small eyes, then he shrugged his shoulders and got back on the island to drink his cup of coffee. “Next time you decide to go for a run, tell us, your mother was frantic.” He tells sitting down.  She glared at him. “I was not, I was just worried.” WE made your puppy eyes. “Sorry, mom.” Both said’ Can we be excused now and go to the Lounge area? Alan askes. “Go on.” She dismissed us with a hand wave and turned to father.  We fall on the big sofa and sight. “For a moment there, in my mind, Alpha Glen sold us out,” Alan whispered to me.  “Glad it did not, but I think dad suspects something.” He got in a lazy pose. “Nahhhh, not possible.” I still was not convinced. “Maybe.” We put a movie and watched it on the big flat screen. “Sis?” I had my mouth with popcorns that he just passed me. “What?” He sat down again next to me. Before the movie started, we remembered the popcorn. Mom had put some on the microwave, so he just went to grab them. “Why do you think that Ginny and Beta Brian, could not scent each other?” I stopped eating and looked at him.  “I don’t know, maybe it has been so long that we had Destined Mates, that the wolves lost the scent of the bond?” He was seriously thinking about it. “No, I don’t think that’s it.” Oriana my wolf also disliked my theory. ‘That’s not it, I can scent the smells.’  “What do you think it could be?” He looked at me and shrugged his shoulders like no idea. “Something we need to find out for next time.”
