Chance
Maybe I was the shittiest actor in history, because I’d started out pretending that I was in love with Ruby and ended up having real feelings for her. Either that, or all that touching and kissing we’d done on the boat had riled up my libido. Whatever it was, it wasn’t fake at all. It was real — very real.
But Ruby wasn’t letting the acting get to her. She could so easily turn it on and off like a light switch. And I wasn’t sure I liked that. I had a difficult time figuring out what to say to her to make her see that I had developed real feelings for her. It was difficult because she didn’t seem to be feeling the same way I was. And that left me feeling somewhat insecure.
