Chance
I wasn’t quite myself that night after Ruby walked away from me, nor the next day when she didn't try to contact me throughout the whole day. I hadn’t tried to contact her, wanting to give her time and space.
Nothing felt settled inside of me. My gut ached constantly, and my mind couldn’t stay on the task at hand, no matter how hard I tried to concentrate.
Somehow, I had to make things right between us again, but so far, I hadn’t been able to figure anything out. And now, it was time to leave work to go home. I had no idea how the night ahead would go either.
