Be My Peace

When I first saw him I wanted nothing to do with him. I was leaving my sisters club for the night after we had a bit of an argument. I speed walked towards my car which was parked directly under a street light when I heard a deep but somehow non-threatening voice yelled, "Hey!" From behind me. I ignored and kept walking towards my car. "Hey, Wait!" He sounded again. I sigh as I reach my car and put my hand in my pocket over my mace, just in case. "What?" I retort with annoyance and irritation laced in my voice. Wasn't even towards him, just my day in general. I finally turned to see a tall, about 6'2, chocolate colored man running slowly at me. When he finally reached me he stopped to breath for a moment. Hunching over and breather slightly heavier, but not so heavy enough to think he didn't work out, because when you saw him you knew he did. Then he stood showing just how much of a height difference we had. My 5'3 compared to his 6'2. The light illuminated his body showing off his muscles through his s**t and the structure of his face. Strong jaw bone and then deep hazel eyes that you could stare at all day. His hair was cut short, everything about him worked well together, right down to his bright but sneaky smile and dimples on both sides which immediately put me at ease. I still however tried to stay on edge with my hand in my jacket pocket clutching my mace just in case. "Can I help you?" I question with less irritation then I had before but it obviously still present. He raised his hands in a playful defense, "Hey hey I mean no harm. It's just I've been watching you all night and when I saw you leaving I couldn't pass up the chance." "We'll that's creepy" I respond sarcastically, but he only chuckled and scratched the back of his head. "I know how it sounds but hear me out, I just wanna have a chance to get to know you..... If you wouldn't mind." He places his hands together as if to beg bowing slightly. Which makes me chuckle a bit, I catch my self however when I catch the smirk spread on his face. "Aw she smiles and laughes like an angel." He peeks up at my causing me to blush and clear my throat. "I'm.. look, I just got outta a relationship and I don't know if I...." "Wait, wait we don't even have to worry that far. We could just be friends, get to know each other and whatever happens happens so..... With that mindset.... Can I just have at least a chance." I let out a sigh and glace at him while he starts his "begging" up again and loudly whispering 'please'. Shaking my head and against better judgment I reach in my small bag and look for my small note pad and a pen, then I hand it to him. "Give me your number" He happily grabs the pen and pad from my hands and begins to scribble as I continue, "I won't make any promises and I might not even call you, I'm usually pretty busy, but maybe." He smiles and hands me my things back. "That's all I need! I'll let you go then sorry." He turns to leave but stops mid turn and grabs my hands placing his soft lips on the back of my hand then glaces up to me and softly says in his low deep voice "Goodnight." Smirks and finally runs back to the club doors until he's no longer in my view. I rub the back of my hand, knowing I'm blushing hard and shake my head as if trying to relieve myself from some sort of trance. "Didn't even tell me his name." Coming back to my senses I look down to the paper, "No name there either." I laugh and place the pen and pad back in my bag. I go to open my car, hop in and drive home for the night.
