Logan was chatting with his pal, Boris, while slumped on a wooden table while sipping beer. The torches' flickering flames cast shadows across the dank, gloomy bar as they lit it up. "Boris, I'm useless, I'm telling you. I'm unfit to succeed the current king. Logan complained, his voice rife with self-doubt, "My father will never pick me above my little brother. A strong and skilled fighter, Boris was quick to comfort him. "That's bunk, my friend. You are the king's oldest son. No matter how well you do in combat, you have a birthright to the kingdom. Logan's blond hair fell into his eyes as he shook his head. "Boris, it's not only that. I can hardly even lift a sword, much less use one in battle. On the other hand, my younger brother is a great combatant. He exemplifies all a king ought to be”. Logan was met by Boris's piercing blue eyes as he drew closer. "My friend, strength isn't everything. You also possess additional attributes that qualify you to reign. Your empathy, intelligence, and capacity for perspective-seeking. These qualities will help you become a great king. With a ray of optimism, Logan looked up. "You really believe that?" With a solemn gaze, Boris nodded. "I do. I'm not the only one who notices it, though. Despite his harshness, your father still cares for you. He is concerned for Albion's welfare. And I think he'll realise you were the right choice”. Logan sighed with relief and lowered his shoulders. "I'm grateful, Boris. Without you, I don't know what I would do”. With a smile, Boris patted Logan's shoulder. "That's nothing to be concerned about, my friend. I'll be here for you at all times”. A hint of resolve could be seen in Logan's eyes as he took another sip of his beer. Despite not being the most powerful warrior, he possessed other traits that made him suitable for rule. And he was confident that he could handle whatever that came his way since Boris was by his side. Just as Boris was leaving the pub, a raucous bunch of customers turned their attention to Logan. They were looking for a fight and had been drinking a lot. One of them smashed his mug on the table in front of Logan. He was a big, bearded man. He scoffed, "What's a weakling like you doing in a place like this, boy?" As Logan got up from his seat with his hands clenched at his sides, his eyes narrowed. His voice was low and menacing, "I suggest you mind your own business," he whispered. However, the man was unmoved. His height overtook Logan as he moved forward. "Boy, I don't like the way you act. You must develop some respect. The man punched Logan in the jaw directly before he had a chance to react. Logan stumbled backwards as his vision became hazy. More strikes continued to fall upon him as the room whirled around him. He attempted to defend himself, but his assailants were too powerful. Boris rushed back into the room with his sword drawn just as it looked like everything had failed. He charged at the bullies with a passionate war cry, taking them out one by one with his mighty swings. The remaining customers rapidly dispersed and fled the area. Logan was assisted to his feet by Boris, who knelt next to him. My friend, you need to be more careful, Boris said. "You can't start a fight with every drunk you see," the person said. A feeling of humiliation overcame Logan as he winced and touched his aching jaw. I am aware, Boris. I really hate being so helpless. He received a supportive pat on the back from Boris. "My friend, strength can take many different forms. To be a great king, you don't have to be the best warrior. All you need is the right heart and intellect for it. And I am certain that you do. Logan grinned, feeling more self-assured than ever. “I'm grateful, Boris. I required hearing that”. Together, the two buddies departed the tavern as the surrounding nighttime air grew crisp and brisk. They discussed their future ambitions and the difficulties that lay ahead as they strolled through Albion's cobblestone streets. Before Logan could establish himself as a deserving ruler, he knew he still had a long way to go. But he felt that anything was possible because Boris was by his side. *** King Alex was seated on his throne in his magnificent palace as the sun started to set, surrounded by his dependable ministers and advisers. They were talking about the problem of the missing elixer and the expedition that would be undertaken to find it. King Alex said in a firm voice, "Ministers, we must find the lost Elixer. "Our kingdom is suffering because it has been lacking for far too long. Our folks are in increasing need due to the failed crops. "Your Majesty, we have already sent Prince Jean and his army to search for the Elixer," one of the ministers yelled. They have been missing for a few days. "I get that, but we have to make sure their mission is effective. As a potent artefact, the elixer shouldn't fall into the wrong hands, King Alex retorted. "Your Majesty, we have heard that a witch stole the elixer many years ago," the second minister continued. We shouldn't undervalue magic's strength. King Alex agreed and nodded. "We must exercise caution. Kylia the witch is dangerous. Our Prince Jean and his soldiers, however, have our trust. They are our best chance of locating the elixer and returning it to our realm. The ministers continued the discussion for a while, outlining numerous plans and suggestions for making the mission successful. King Alex paid close attention to each of them and took note of their recommendations. Prince Jean and his soldiers arrived at the palace just as they were finishing off the conference. They appeared worn out and exhausted, as though they had travelled a great distance. To greet them, King Alex rose from his throne. "My kid, welcome back. He said anxiously, "Did you discover the elixer. Prince Jean lowered his head. "I apologise, Father. We looked everywhere, but we couldn't find it. King Alex wore a displeased but unsurprised expression. "Don't worry, my son. We won't give up until we discover it. Let's rest today and get ready for tomorrow. Jean stood up straight and spoke with assurance. "Father, I've discovered where the elixir is. Beyond the Misty Mountains, it is concealed among the remains of the ancient temple of the Sirens. It is protected by strong spells, according to my sources, but we have a chance to take possession of it before anyone else. When the ministers realised the significance of Jean's discovery, they exclaimed in awe. King Alex was proud of his son's brains and resourcefulness as he stared at Jean with admiration. "Good job, Jean. The King put his hand on his son's shoulder and remarked, "This is a magnificent finding indeed. "Get your soldiers ready and get out right away. You have my support and confidence. We'll celebrate your victory when you bring the elixir back to me. Jean nodded while looking determined in his eyes. Father, I agree. I won't let you down, promise. He then turned and walked out of the royal room, leaving his warriors in his wake. The ministers started chatting excitedly among themselves about the upcoming quest. Deep in thought, the King relaxed on his throne. He finally gained access to the elusive Elixir of Albion, and he was confident in his choice of the assassin. Knowing that his older son Logan could not be trusted with such a crucial assignment caused him to experience a twinge of sadness. He closed his eyes, hoping his trust in Jean had not been misplaced and that he would soon be in possession of the elixir. *** Rayna is waiting for Jean when he walks into his room. He approaches her, grabs her hand, and gives her a kiss on the forehead. Jean, I've been waiting for you, Rayna says, her eyes filled with dread. How much time will this mission require? I worry about your security. I understand your concerns, my love, Jean says as he cradles her in his arms. We must prevent the Elixir from falling into the wrong hands because this quest is crucial for the kingdom. I'll return to you, safe and sound, I swear. Rayna cries as she raises her eyes to his and says, "I know, Jean. But the idea of being without you is intolerable. Please take care, and get in touch with me soon". As she kisses her and wipes away her tears, Jean says, "I will, my love. I'll return to you, and then we can begin living together happily”. They both sit down on the bed when Rayna nods. The dangers of the journey and the difficulties that lay ahead are described to her by Jean. Rayna listens to him while feigning not to be afraid. After some time, Jean gets up and walks away. Hugged by Rayna as she rises, Jean is told to take care of himself. You can find me waiting for you. Rayna receives a hug from Jean, who replies, "I will. I'll be back soon, I promise." Rayna sits on the bed and cries out for Jean's protection and well-being as he exits the room. Though she was aware of how crucial the quest was for the kingdom, she couldn't help but be concerned for her husband's security. ***
