Blurb

My boyfriend, Samuel Scott, found himself caught up in a game of Truth or Dare, ending up in a make-believe wedding with his childhood sweetheart, Sophia Hall.

At the graduation ceremony, I was frantically searching for Samuel with a pregnancy test report in hand. Meanwhile, he was at a party, engrossed in a game of Truth or Dare with his buddies.

I texted him about the pregnancy, and he replied instantly.

Samuel: Don't worry. We'll tie the knot right after graduation and start a family.

But three days later, as I passed by a hotel, a polished photo of him and Sophia locked in an intimate embrace had been turned into a wedding display.

I calmly asked how he had become someone else's groom. Before he could say anything, Sophia, eyes brimming with tears, explained in a shaky voice, "Nina, my mom's on her deathbed. Her dying wish was to see me marry Samuel.

Samuel's just doing me a favor. Blame me if you must!"

Samuel cradled her tenderly, his gaze icy as it met mine. "I lost a dare, leading to this mock wedding with Sophia. I'll explain everything when her mom's wish is fulfilled. Stop overreacting."

I let out a sneer, said nothing more, and walked away. The following day, I went to the hospital for an abortion. By the third day, I had packed up and left town.

Finally, Samuel realized he could no longer reach me by any means. A wave of panic swept over him.

Chapter 1 The Unexpected Twist
After a restless night on the train, I dashed back to campus, eager to attend the graduation ceremony. But despite my best efforts, Samuel Scott was nowhere to be found. Panic gnawed at me. Me: Where are you, Samuel? I shot off one desperate message after another. It was like shouting into a black hole. Silence answered back. Anxiety gripped me as I scoured my contacts, hoping someone might know his whereabouts. Finally, his roommate filled me in. "Nina, give it a rest. He's wrapped up in a game of Truth or Dare." Disappointment hit me hard. We had just promised each other that despite our new jobs pulling us apart for now, our long-distance relationship would work. This ceremony was our one fleeting chance to be together, even for just a sliver of a day. Lately, I had been battling constant queasiness and dreaded visits to the bathroom, only to have a doctor confirm what I feared most. I was pregnant. I had immediately texted Samuel to break the news. Me: I might be pregnant. What should we do then? His reply took ages to materialize. Samuel: Babe, I'm swamped. We'll figure it out at graduation. Clutching the pregnancy test report, I scoured the ceremony for him, but he was already off celebrating with his pals. Frustration boiled within me. Work had been relentless this month, and getting just a day and a half off was a miracle I had to fight for. I needed to head back that afternoon. Surely he realized how crucial it was for us to meet. Was that game really worth it? Exasperated, I snapped a picture of the pregnancy test report and sent it to him. Me: Samuel, I'm really pregnant. What do we do now?
