After dancing with the prince...he had left to do his duties and a serious looking lady tested my manners and speaking and deemed it basic enough to proceed with meeting the King and Queen. She did say that we still have plenty of work to do. I forced a smile and tried my best to walk out that ballroom as graceful as possible, back towards the room that I'm staying in.
I haven't done much today since it was already evening but I was quite exhausted. Not physically, but emotionally. I think they understood that and that's why it seemed they were easy on me. I bet I have a lot to get done to be ready for the title "Princess". I sighed, looking out my window to see the beautiful sunset gracing the fields and the light breeze causing the grass to look like small waves. I don't know how long, I'll feel this heavy weight on my chest, but it feels like it would take awhile to overcome. Seeing that I've been bombarded with news, that I would have never thought to be receiving. I dropped myself on the soft bed and my heavy eyelids soon after closed and I fell into a deep sleep.
The heat and brightness of the sun forced my eyes to open and my ladies stood waiting for me to wake up. "It's time to get ready ma'am, you are going to meet the King and Queen, the Prince's parents for brunch." they cheerfully said. "Would the Prince be there?" I quickly responded. "Yes miss, now time to get ready." one of the maids said. "Will you always be my ladies?" I asked. "If you want us to be, yes, Your Highness." they replied. "If that is the case, stop using honorifics and you can call me Angelika," I added, "and please tell me your names also, I do want you to always be my ladies and, my friends too, I don't want to be lonely here." They blushed, the tall and slender lady who I've always saw wear cream dresses name was Verena and the shorter lady with a bigger bust than mine and Verena's, who would wear cream shirts and skirts, her name was Wanda.
After dressing me in a solid dark green, velvet, a-line, floor length dress that had an off the shoulder spaghetti strap and an elbow length sleeve connected to it with a high neckline to cover my cleavage with black lace ruffled at the top. Oh I admire the dresses they have me wearing! Which was only two so far but I'm excited to see what else they have in store for me. They styled my hair in loose waves and applied face powder, neatened my brows and gave me a subtle dark red lip to compliment my stunning dress. I felt rather beautiful in my get up as per usual.
Leaving the building I was in, and walking into an open but sheltered hall. I was outside but it was private at the same time, I could see the sky and if I walk off the corridor and it rained I would get wet...but, the sides had small flower beds and two small fountains and concrete benches on either side, which would make a lovely place for me to read. While admiring the walkway by slowly walking, they hurried me to enter the next building, since it was almost time for me to be there. Wouldn't want to be late for my first impression, I guess.
Upon entering the room which would impress anyone that entered, in my opinion. With the room mostly decorated with gold and had pearl coloured walls, a huge crystal chandelier hovered the long dining table. But focusing more on the people...sitting at the table, close to each other on one end. There were an older lady and man that I knew were the Prince's parents just by looking at them and a beautiful blonde haired girl sitting beside his parents and the prince. I curtsied and gave them a gentle smile. "What a beautiful young lady you have grown into, please come and sit," the queen gracefully said. The prince gestured to sit by him. I was able to get a better look at the blonde girl since she was sitting right in front of me.
She giggled. "Brigitte Bauer's the name, I'm your royal prince's sister," with exaggeration in her tone. "Nice to meet you doll, can't wait to get to know you." she kindly remarked. I felt blessed, she's so sweet. "Likewise, Your Highness, I'm Angelika Beck, I would love to get to know you more," I replied. "Please forgive me Lady Beck, I haven't gotten a chance to greet you, since my overly excited family haven't given me the chance," the King said with a light chuckle. Is the King really this nice? Never thought of the royal family being this sweet. "I'm so happy most of our family has finally reunited once again, our children were longing to meet you since they knew you were always apart of our family and one day they would meet you again." the Queen graciously said. Most? There must be more of them. A rogue tear escaped my left eye after receiving such love and kindness. I was in utter shock to know there was a happily ever after in my life.
