Bed of Limes: Nothing Stopping Her

Chapter 2- Is She Alive? The Secrets Are Yet to Unfold.

" Khandi! What is she doing home so early." He immediately sneaked out of Kathayia's room, crawling into his bed as If he was sound asleep before her mother made her way up the wooden stairs.

"Jeff!" she shouted as she slowly crept up the stairs. "Kathayia's teacher called and said she was unwell," "Have you seen her?" "Jeff!" "Kathayia!" She continued to shout at the top of her lungs but her words fell on deaf ears. "Something is wrong," she told herself with fear.

Kathayia was laying still on the bed as her mother opened the door; but would not respond to her mother's calls. "Kathayia! Kathayia! Baby!" she yelled in terror as she got closer. However Kathayia gave no sign of consciousness. Her mother became extremely worried. She called out to Jeff to rush them to the hospital.

After admitting Kathayia to the hospital, her mother and stepfather were unable to see her. Hours went by. Her mother could not control her emotions; she cried and cried while deceitful Jeff comforted her.

"Kathayia will be fine Khandi....why you worrying yuhself for.... eh?"

Khandi found some comfort in his arms as she anxiously awaited a word from the nurse or doctor.

Almost close to midnight, a doctor approached Khandi as she fell asleep soundly in the waiting room. Jeff had left the hospital to see after Kathayia's younger brother. As the doctor called out to her, she 'jumped' up.

"Yes doctor!" "Is my baby okay?" "Can I see her?"

The doctor immediately replied in a soft but deep voice. "She is resting and lost a lot of blood, you can see her tomorrow after a Social worker has a chat with her; please! go home and rest."

"What!" Her jaw dropped in shock.

"Social Services!" "What you mean Social Services....worker....whatever?"

"Please! Just tell me what is wrong with my daughter doctor." Khandi begged as tears trickled down her smooth face. "Please doctor!" "She is my only babygirl!"

Filled with emotions the doctor replied,

" I am sorry mam, but my hands are tied." Due to the circumstances the head nurse had no other choice."

Khandi stormed out of the hospital bursting in tears. "What is happening?"

"What is wrong with Kathayia that can involve 'Social services,' " she questioned herself. "Oh my GOSH! Kathayia has to be pregnant she thought.

"Her teacher called....I found her unconscious....Social Services." "I can't believe she will have s*x behind my back after she promised me...." she sighed. "What am I going to tell Jeff?"

"He would be highly disappointed, he loves her sooo much; as if she was his own."
