I am Dating a Teacher

Meanwhile, in the neighboring town lived a lad named Kiel. He is taking up Business Administration to help their family business - a school. The hell he gives in managing a school. What he really wants to do is be an aircraft engineer or fly an airplane. He likes singing and they have a band. How he wishes that he can pursue what he wants. 

“Riiiiing… ringgggg,” Kiel immediately take the phone call.

“I am here in the airport, Kiel.”

Kiel smiled. It was his longtime girlfriend, Sofia. She is finally back after staying in the US and South Korea for family businesses.

Sofia and Kiel had been boyfriend and girlfriend since first year highschool and until now that they are finishing college and getting degrees.

Kiel checked himself in the mirror of his car. “Alright! I look decent. No more games this time.”

He had been really thankful that Sofia gave him another chance. Well, he had a history of immature “connections” to women. It is not that he had been in a relationship with another. It is just girls who are really there for him. Friendly conversations, a bit of flirting, some going outs and yeahhhh! Okay! Not anymore denial. He did cheat but it is really Sofia who he loves.

He loves everything about her. Her intelligence, grace and being outgoing. She is never a boring girl. She knows dancing, singing, doing debates and she was a popular girl when they were in highschool. He is a perfect match for her, many say.

Not to mention that their families are quite close. Their parents, especially their mothers are best friends and you can imagine how many holidays and summers their family are together. 

Kiel parked in the airport and managed to see Sofia easily. He then checked the bouquet he bought along the way. The flowers are beautifully arranged. He smelled himself and again checked his reflection. All good.

“Hi babe!”, Kiel handed the bouquet to Sofia and kissed her on the lips. 

One thing he realized after their last argument is how much of a jerk he is for wasting the trust of this lady. She is perfect and just too much for her. He cheated a lot of times being connected to many girls since highschool but Sofia has a big heart for him. She always forgives him. She always understands. God knows how much he is willing to be serious to this woman this time. 

Kiel hugged Sofia tightly while giving her a kiss on the lips. Sofia moved a bit and smiled shyly.

Her girlfriend is so beautiful in her white tops and jeans. The outfit is basic but you know right away that they are all branded.

“Your condo is being renovated right now but you can stay at mine,” Kiel told Sofia. He recently learned about this from Aunt Hilda, Sofia’s mother. 

Their parents approve of each of them and do not care anymore if they are sleeping together on one roof. I guess they already know that they did the thing already but not just when. 

Well, they are each other’s firsts…. And last. Kiel knows that Sofia is the one he is gonna marry. He is certain about it even though he has played with girls before. No one can be compared with Sofia.

They reached his condo around six o'clock in the evening. Just in time for his prepared intimate dinner.  He asked some personnels to arrange a table, rose petals and a lot of Sofia’s favorite foods. She loves cakes in particular.

“I have to prove I deserve another chance from her. I hope she likes this.,” Kiel murmured to himself as he put the passcode to his room’s door. 

He looked at Sofia and saw her surprised face. Her eyes started to have tears and just a second, hot fat tears were flowing from her eyes already to her beautiful cheeks.

“Awww, sweetie. Don’t cry,” Kiel said as he approached Sofia to hug her.

Sofia was speechless as she was led to sit down by Kiel.

Her boyfriend had never done this. For five long years, he really did not give her as much effort as now. Everything is perfect. The room was full of vibrant pink petals of roses. They are scattered all over the floor and are even decorated all over the room. Pictures are hanging from the ceiling. She gazed upon everything and saw that they were their pictures when they were highschool and college. They look so young and ugly but yes, happy.

Sofia looked at the table and gave a smile. All are deserts and are all her favorites. Kiel doesn’t like sweets but here is a table full of them just for her from him. She smiled weakly.

“Kiel….”

“I know we are still not okay, Sof,” Kiel cut her off from speaking.

“I know that I am a jerk and I was not the best boyfriend for you. I made you cry a thousand times. I had been a pain that you held for so long and I wanna thank you for always accepting me. You always believe in the love that we have. You are the perfect one for me and I was a jerk for hurting you. Let me be the perfect guy for you this time.”

Kiel looked at Sofia but he cannot fathom what is going on her mind. Her face is somewhat sad even in the airport. He thought it was because she was tired from the trip. However,his girlfriend is always fascinated by surprises. She would usually jump in joy or scream. 

Sofia held his hand firmly and looked sadly at him. Tears are falling down again from her big brown eyes.

“Kiel, I am not perfect and I am not for you.”

“I don’t understand. What do you mean?”

“I am so sorry Kiel. I have a boyfriend in the US for two months now. I just went home to close our story in person. I am so sorry. I am truly sorry.”

Kiel can not believe what he heard. Sof cannot do that. Sofia loves her so much.

Kiel’s world stopped. Sofia was explaining the details to her with apologies and sobs. She was telling her many things and explanations but he cannot absorb everything. He is ready to make a new start. He was ready to be a man for her already. Why now?

A man who just had his heart broken after breaking many hearts. 

“Aha! So this is how it feels? You deserve it,” Kiel mocked himself. He knew that night that he will never fall in love again.
