1.| Welcome to the City!
Hi I'm Lethabile Tau and I'm from a big city called Johannesburg in South Africa. Yes you heard that, I'm African. I grew up in the rich side of the city but I know the struggle of the city. I'm currently on a plane to New York to start off my new life as a personal assistant of the C.E.O. of some big company. Don't judge me, I was desperate for a job, and the job just so happened to fall in my lap, and I just so happened to fit the requirements. "Champagne?" The flight attendant asks and I shake my head with a smile. Honestly this job seems quite legit. Yes I'm flying first class and getting a rent-free penthouse to stay in, which all is paid by the company. After a long flight the plane finally lands and I descend from the plane finding a matte black SUV. A man loads my luggage into the trunk of the car and walks towards me. "Miss. Tau." The man greets with a friendly smile. He is wearing an all black suit with a white dress shirt. His quite well aged. Could be in his late fifties almost sixty. Wrinkles around his his eyes and on his form and a good amount of smile wrinkles. "This way Miss. Tau." He gestures to the car. I smile. "No need to call me Miss Tau." I say as we walk to the car. "Call me Letta." I say as I climb into the car when the man opens the door for me. He nods and closes the door before making his way to the driver's seat to drive me to my new home. "So Letta...where are you from?" The man asks. "Well, I'm from South Africa. I'm full African woman, inside and out." I say pridefully. "What can I call you?" I ask still not aware of the man's name. "Oh, pardon my manners. My name is Glen." He says and I nod. "So how are things in South Africa? Do you guys have buildings and cars?" I laugh. "Glen. South Africa isn't a jungle or anything of such imaginations. It has almost everything you guys have here." I explain. He nods and the car suddenly comes to a slow halt. "Well...this is where I leave you...Letta. I'll be picking you up tomorrow morning to take you to your working building at 8 a.m. Mr. Richardson specifically requested that you only have one driver to keep you from major culture shock." He says and I nod. He gets out of the car to open my door but I beat him to it. He smiles and walks to offload my luggage handing it to the bell boy. "Thank you, Glen." I say beflre turning to look at the building I'll be living in. I look up at the building nearly get a stroke. The building is huge. I'm sure only rich people live here. I walk in and the receptionist walks over to me. "You must be Miss Tau, I'm Henry the hotel's receptionist." He greets me with a warm smile. "This is your room's key." He hands me a key card. "It is on the 80th floor. Never. Go. To. The. 81st." He deadpans. "You will find your luggage in your penthouse. And if you need help with anything just come down to me." He smiles. "Enjoy your stay." He says before walking back to the counter. "Wait." I walk over to the counter. "What's on the 81st floor?" I question curiously. "You'll find out soon enough." He says before getting back to some papers. I nod and walk over to the elevator. In there I find a tall, intimidating but still miraculously handsome man. He wears a smart navy suite with a light blue dress shirt with a navy tie. "Hi." I greet and he just looks at me. Rude. "Hello." I greet again but this time a little louder. Maybe he didn't hear me the first time. He still just looks at me and keeps quiet. I sigh and press the button for the 80th floor before he presses the 81st. My eyes widen for a slight second as to the thought that maybe his the reason why I can't go to the 81st floor. The silence in the elevator illuminates with the sounds of the shaft picking up the weight as it goes up. The elevator stops a couple of times until all the people come and all end up gone. The elevator reaches my floor and I exit the elevator. "How rude." I mutter to myself under my breath. On the 80th floor there's only five foors which I find a little weird. I reach my door which is 2/80. I slide the card where I'm supposed to before opening the door. "Ah!" I squel when I see the magnificence of the penthouse. The place is huge. The living is so beautiful as it is furnished with an elegant white and gray theme. The place has three bedrooms which each have a bathroom of their own. The main room–which is obviously mine–has a huge walk-in closet that already has clothing and shoes that are my exact size. The kitchen is magnificent. It has a bit of a dark theme with black counters and cabinets but I love it. The first thing I do is grab my luggage and take it to the room with me. I leave my luggage in the closet, throw off my shoes and throw myself in the middle of the bed with a gleeful sigh. This job is already the best without even starting.
