Dreams?

Scarlett POV                Beep. Beep. Beep. I grumbled softly at the noise. My head was pounding, and my eyes felt like they were glued shut. I tried a few times to blink them open before they slowly peeled apart allowing me to see what the noise was. The light in the room was dim but I could just barely make out a pile of red hair on the bed next to me. Why would Lily be in my bed? I wondered blinking a bit harder to try to clear up my vision. Slowly the room became clearer to me. I was in a hospital room. My brain felt foggy but slowly I started to remember the attack. I hadn’t been injured that badly, it was just my arm wasn’t it? Carefully I tried to sit up to take in my surroundings. I looked down at my right arm, it was wrapped heavily in bandages but it felt fine. “Lil, wake up.” I said softly. The redhead didn’t budge. She must have stayed with me because she was worried. “Lil!” I said louder with a little more persistence. Still nothing. I reached out to shake her only to watch my hand slip through her as if she were hologram. What the actual f**k?! I shot up in my bed in shock. Realized now I should have jerked all the wires and monitors with me, yet nothing moved. Not even the blanket draped over me. “Calm down, child!” A gentle yet somehow firm voice called out from across the room. I jerked my head in the direction to see a woman standing before me. She had pale almost silver blonde hair and creamy skin. She looked almost ghost like outside of her light blue gown. I could see her silvery blue eyes crystal clear as if they were glowing. “Where the f**k did you come from? Better yet who the f**k are you?” My head was spinning now. I was stumbling over my words. “Language! I will not have you speaking to me with such disrespect, Scarlett. Calm down and I will explain everything!” She demanded. I stared at her sternly. She had another thing coming if she thought I was just going to accept that some stranger had managed to not only come onto pack lands but end up standing in my hospital room with me and my best friend asleep. Then it clicked. My hand had gone through Lily. Could I be dreaming? This was one messed up lucid dream. What the hell had Dr. Grace given me? “Explain yourself. Who are you then? I’m obviously high and dreaming.” I muttered crossing my arms. “It would do you well to learn some respect, Scarlett. My name is Selene.” She said stepping forward the low light from the hall allowing me to see her more clearly. She moved as though she was floating. “Selene? As in the goddess? The moon goddess?” I responded frantically. Now I knew I was losing it. The Goddess wouldn’t just show herself randomly. She watched over all her children, but she wouldn’t just appear for a quick chat. Either I was on some really good drugs or I was dying, and this was some kind of weird death hallucination. “I should have known you’d make this harder than it has to be. “She muttered flicking her hair out of her face with obvious annoyance. “I’m obviously dreaming. High or dreaming.” I repeated. “For the love of wolves, Scarlett! I’m here to help guide you. Would you just shut up for a moment and let me explain?” She exclaimed loudly. The next thing I knew we were sitting near the hot spring. I blinked and there we were. I was sitting on my favorite rock. The one that so many years ago I had hidden near. Selene stood before me suddenly looking as though her entire being was glowing with the moonlight. “Now, before you freak out again. Let me speak.” She said firmly. “Scarlett, I know you’ve been coming into your powers. You must know by now that I have blessed you with many gifts.” My thoughts trailed off to the conversation I had with Alpha Nolan and my father. They suspected I was a descendent of primordial wolves possibly even Selene herself. Not much was known about the gifts these wolves could possess. There were little records of it. “I mean outside of some Carrie type nonsense; I haven’t seen much.” I said with a bit of a smart-ass smirk. “Enough!” She shouted at me. Alright, so even goddesses could get annoyed with my attitude. “Quit being a child for a moment and let me finish what I’ve come to say. Or I could just leave, and you’ll have no clues as to what path you’re on, where you’re headed and the like. Perhaps why your loved ones continue to be attacked?” She countered with an almost threatening tone. I hung my head solemnly. Dream or not I suddenly felt guilty. Like I had when Lucille would scold me for misbehaving when I was younger. I was often quiet, but I had my moments where I would act out just like the other kids. Even if I was often overly cautious. “Scarlett, you are special. As your father has suspected. You will develop many gifts and these gifts will carry a need to act responsibly.” She added in a calmer tone. I nodded in response. “It is not just you that is blessed. Your pack is equally as special.” “What do you mean by that?” I asked quizzically. “In time you will learn more of these secrets. It’s important that you follow the clues you’re given. I came tonight to give you an answer I know you’ve all been seeking. Scarlett, you are of primordial blood. Born as a direct descendent to even the very first werewolves. You are my descendent.” She put heavy emphasis on the word my. I’m fairly certain my jaw hit the ground as I tried to look anywhere but at her. The goddess herself came to confirm that I’m her relative. I come from her bloodline. I couldn’t believe it. I had thought it was crazy with my father suggested their theory. I couldn’t deny the gifts I had been given but it was more likely that she had simply blessed me than the fact that I was actually descended from the goddess herself. The goddess that was standing before me now. I looked at her trying to summon my voice. Hoping it would stay calm rather than squeaking out like an excitable child. “I am the wolf of the prophecies then? A true pureblood. Gifted and destined for what exactly?” There was no attitude in my voice this time. “Only time will tell my child. I cannot give you all the answers, but you also haven’t had the easiest road. I decided I would bless you with the knowledge that you are in fact a rare wolf. I hope the information will help guide you and instill the confidence you need to take your next steps to find the answers to all of your questions. Remember this place. When you were small you ran alone. But it was in this very spot that you found your family and in doing so began the journey of your destiny. Trust in your pack and trust in yourself.” Suddenly I was back in the hospital bed. I frantically looked around. Selene was gone. “Goddess, where are you?” I asked softly looking around for her. Lily was still a heap on the side of the bed. She hadn’t moved at all. I reached out to touch her again trying to shake her awake. My hand slipped through once more. I was still dreaming. Beep. Beep. Beep. The monitors continued their steady beeping despite the fact that I still saw no wires attached to me. Even my bandage had disappeared from my arm. It looked as though I had never had any injury at all. This was starting to get trippy. I willed myself to wake up. I tried laying back in the bed. Beep. Beep. Beep. That was starting to get almost as annoying as Selene’s disappearing act.   “Alright Deva. So apparently, we’re a child of the goddess herself. We’re gifted. Or I’m completely losing my mind” I couldn’t talk to Lily so I would attempt to clear my confused mind by talking to my wolf. Maybe Deva could help me make sense of this weird event. “Little one, I told you we were special. I believe our goddess needed you to fully believe it. You are not losing your mind. We are special.” She repeated. “Yes. I mean I get that, we literally held men down with our minds. But this is some crazy pain killer induced dream.” “Keep telling yourself that.” Deva snarled annoyed at me.                Beep. Beep. Beep.                I growled throwing my hand in a back-hand motion at the monitor. I’d had enough of the damn beeping. My hand connected to the hard plastic and metal causing me to yelp out loud and my eyes to jerk open. “Ouch!” I yelled out.                The bundle of red hair next to me jumped up suddenly as if in shock. “SCARLETT! Oh! my goddess you’re awake finally!” She had tears welling in her eyes as she lunged onto the bed squeezing me tightly.                “Lily! Lily! Calm down I’ve been awake for at least an hour now!”                “Scarlett, you’ve been asleep for two days!” She shouted back at me.                There’s no way she could be right. I was literally just in some weird dream state with the goddess and talking to Deva. Literally just moments ago. Suddenly she was shoving a phone in my face with the calendar app open. It was nearly 2 in the afternoon, and she was right, two days had passed. I looked up towards the window to see bright sunlight. When had that changed? It was literally dark seconds ago. Quickly I started to tell Lily about my weird dream and how I was certain I had just woken up an hour ago.                “It was the weirdest dream. I’m wide awake. As if I’ve been up for hours already, Lil. It all seemed so real though. I have never experienced anything like it.” I finished up, watching Lily’s hazel eyes stare back at me wide.                “Scarlett… I don’t think it was a dream at all.” Lily started. “I think you really were visited by the goddess.” She whispered.                I stayed quiet thinking about it. Maybe it had all really happened. If I really was this prophesized wolf, a descendant of the goddess herself though, one thing was for sure. The attack was to get to me. They weren't after the whole pack. Someone out there had to know my history as well. But Selene had said the whole pack was special. What had she meant by that? Lily just grabbed my hand still in shock herself.                “Alright, If I’ve been asleep for two days, fill me in on what exactly happened?” I stated just now realizing my arm was fully healed. There were no bandages anywhere just some monitoring attachments on me which I promptly removed.                “Stop that, Scarlett, we need Dr. Grace to check you out first.” She said swatting at my hands. I ignored her removing them anyway.                “Shut the machine off before it starts beeping again or I’ll break it. “I countered.                Lily sighed heavily before standing up and shutting off the vitals monitor.                “Thank you. Now, fill me in. “I didn’t want the barrage of people rushing in before I knew what had gone down the last two days. I knew my parents would be frantic with worry but a few more minutes wouldn’t kill anyone. “After you tell me everything, you can call whomever you’d like to check me out and ensure I’m okay. But I’m telling you right now, I’m fine.” I said hoping Lily would accept the compromise.
