She hadn’t even been gone long and I missed my Duchess.
That was why the ride up was one of the worst of my life. It felt like the trip to Thunderstruck took twelve hours, but in fact, Fishnet and I along with a couple Henchmen brothers made it within three and a half hours.
My Duchess, Karma and Tank were all waiting for us at the top of the driveway when we arrived, the Duchess with a smile on her face that whilst mostly genuine, did seem forced around her eyes. She was stressed, really stressed.
I made a beeline straight for her, but other than a smile, she gave no greeting, other than a stressed “let’s get this done so we can go home”.
