Chapter13

1442 Words
***Piper*** One week. That's how long I have been staying with Molly and her husband. One week of no Peter. I'm still struggling with what happened. I've been trying to process it. I feel embarrassed and humiliated. I want to scrub my whole body to wash off their touches. At night, I see their faces when I close my eyes. I can feel their hands on me, their voices taunting me, telling me how much I wanted it even though I was screaming at them. No, I didn't like it. I didn't want them to touch me; I wanted them to stop. I even screamed for Peter, but no one came. No one was there to help me. Molly would come rushing in at night when I would scream and thrash about in bed. She would sit with me, holding me till I calmed down. I was forever grateful for her help. Even Bash was right there with us. He didn't make a move to touch me, but his presence, oddly enough, gave me comfort, as no one could get by him. "Hey Pip, how are you feeling this morning?" Molly's cheerful voice filled the kitchen as I walked in. I was able to get up and move around on my own a lot better. Sure, I was still sore, but it was nothing I hadn't felt before. “Hey, Mols, not too bad this morning.” She was buzzing around the kitchen, making breakfast. I moved to the counter, pouring a cup of coffee as she moved about at the stove. "Good morning, ladies," Bash called out as he entered the kitchen. “Hey, Piper, can I get one?” "Yeah, sure." Setting mine down, I poured one for him. "Thanks," he said, taking it, then stopped by Molly, kissing her on the head. "Morning, love," he whispered to her, making her blush as she swatted him away. Molly brought the food over, setting it out on the table. Taking a seat, we slowly began to fill our plates. "Doc is coming by later; he wanted to check how your eye is doing," Molly said as she picked up her coffee cup. "Okay," I continued to push the food around. My appetite just wasn't there. I appreciate Molly trying to keep me fed, and Doc is very nice; he is not what I thought. He is a more prominent man like Bash, but he was so gentle and didn't make me uncomfortable. I heard him afterward talking to Bash. He wanted to get his hands on Peter and those men. "Pip, do you think you should talk to someone about what happened?" Molly asked me. I looked at her; I could see the worry on her face. It's been a couple of long nights. "Truthfully, I wouldn't even know where to start," I mumbled. Her hand covered mine. "It's okay, Pip. It's just a suggestion. When you are ready, it's all at your pace, no pressure," She squeezed my hand. Giving her a slight nod, I was happy she dropped it. "I have to run down to the clubhouse. Bear messaged he's holding church this afternoon." Bash broke the silence. I haven't seen Bear since the day he helped bring me here. "Something wrong? Bear normally doesn't hold church midday," Molly asked. “That, and he hasn't been over in a week. He is usually here every other day.” Bash rubbed the back of his neck. "Carrie." That was all he said, causing Molly's eyes to widen. From that reaction, I'm going to assume she did something terrible. “Are you serious? She came back? Holy s**t, what did she do this time? And what about Bear, he could not have been too happy?” “He threw her out, but she beat up Roxie pretty bad, broke her nose,” Bash said while sipping his coffee. “Dam, I hope someone got one on her. I didn't think she would have the balls to show up after what she did.” Bash shook his head. “I didn't think so either, but Bear is a mess now, and with all the other stuff going on, it just adds to the pile of s**t he is having to deal with.” Bash stood up, picked up his plate, and put it in the sink. "You two ladies need anything before I head out?" He stood behind Molly's chair. She looked up and over at him. “No, babe, I think we will be fine. I have to check in with the hospital later.” "Alright, remember there is a prospect out front. Call if you need anything." Bending down, he placed a kiss on her lips. "See you later, Piper," he waved as he went out the door. A few seconds later, we heard the rumble as he left. I started to help Molly clean up, and even though she kept saying I didn't need to, I did not want to feel like a burden. I mean, they are letting me crash here, and with all the help she is doing for me, it makes me feel like I'm returning the favor. “Hey, Molly, can I ask you something?” “Sure, what's up?” “Who is Carrie?” She glanced over at me, her brow raised. I quickly held up my hand. “I was just wondering what she did. I mean, it sounds bad.” Feeling like I may have overstepped a little, She let out a sigh as she placed the last plate in the dishwasher. Closing it, she faced me as I wiped down the counter and table. “Why don't we go sit in the living room?” Moving to the living room, I sat in the armchair, resting my casted arm on the arm of the chair. “Carrie is Bear's ex. She and her sister came a few years ago, before I met Bash, and she and Bear started dating. After a year, she became super possessive of Bear and wouldn't let other women talk to him. She would always claim he was cheating if he went to check in on the different businesses they have; she would start fights with others all the time. Hell, she even gave me s**t one time cause Bear hugged me.” “Oh wow, that sounds nuts; I mean, you are with Bash.” She nodded. “Right, and we had been dating for a few months, but that woman is a few quarters short of a dollar. She even beat the hell out of a club girl for bringing Bear a beer—one he asked for. The girl never touched him; she just set the beer down, and he thanked her. Carrie came out of nowhere and jumped her. She started punching her.” “What happened? Did someone stop her?” “Yeah, Bear pulled her off the girl. He ended things for a while, but she came crawling back, crying the blues to him, and he let her back in. She always does this, but this last time she screwed up big time. She slept with a rival club president and shared some information with them about the club. Bear threw her out, and he threatened to kill her if she came back. That was about four months ago, until she showed up the other day.” "And I'm assuming that's a bad thing?" I did not know much about the clubs. I know they have their own set of rules. "Oh yeah, that's the most significant no-no you could do; these men and their club live by their rules and their codes, so that alone should have landed a bullet in her head, but because she still has a sister in the club, Bear told her never to step foot on their property again." She sounded like someone Peter would know. Those two could have been two peas in a pod. I had told Molly about some of the things Peter did—nothing about the whole s*x thing and how he held parties where they all screwed all over the apartment, or how he beat me when I tried to leave. "I'm sorry he is having to deal with that. She sounds like someone you don't want as a friend." She laughed. “Yeah, definitely not.” "Oh, that's probably Doc," she got up and went over, pulling open the door. “Hello, Molly. Long time no see." My spine instantly straightened as the hair on the back of my neck stood up, "I'm here for Piper.”
