Emily has spent seventeen years as a servant in the Bellmount pack, hiding in plain sight with only fragments of dreams she can't quite remember. But when her eyes glow emerald green under the Blood Moon, everything changes.

She is the last Greenhill heiress to a murdered bloodline and the child of an ancient prophecy. Haunted by someone who is meant to be her protector, Lord Varek, has spent nearly two decades hunting anyone with her blood, determined to prevent the prophecy that foretells his destruction.

When her true nature is exposed, Emily loses everything: her home, her guardian, and the boy she thought she loved.

Fleeing into a forbidden territory came with a second chance at love she wasn't ready to take but Kael is her fated mate.

As Emily trains to master her hybrid magic, Varek's shadow creeps closer. Torn between vengeance and destiny, between the past that haunts her and a future she must fight for, Emily must decide: will she hide from her legacy, or become the Luna the prophecy promised?

Chapter One
EMILY’S POV The screams came first. Then the flames. High-pitched, unrelenting and deafening. I could hear the clanking of swords. Amidst the warriors were wolves snarling and ripping flesh apart. I couldn’t believe I just witnessed a man digging out the intestines of another, making me want to throw up. Then came the fire. Sparklings of lightings I had hoped were shooting stars arched in from the skies, I did not realise what they were until one collapsed into a building setting it ablaze. “Arrows!” My eyes widened in shock. Chaos erupted. People began to run out of their houses and hide spots into the hands of the attackers. The night sky turned red, not from the blood moon overhead—but from the inferno below. “Help! Help!” A loud yell from a burning building by my far right drew my attention. Inside was a woman and two kids crying for help as the fire intensified. Running in to save them was a man who was suddenly struck by an incoming arrow. The pain that shot instantly in the eyes of the woman could tell you the man was her husband. Her tears broke me forcing me into action. I took her husband's place, trying to save them. . “Use the exit..the back! There should be a way out! The door is jammed! There is no knob here so I can't push it open from here!” My jugular nerve extended as a result of my shout, but she kept hitting the door in desperation, screaming for help. “What’s going on”, my brows furrowing in confusion. Was I dead? Was this my ghost? Why is no one seeming to hear or see me? I tried to call out again, but nothing changed. It was at that point, my chest began to heave in panic. “No… No…. It can’t be, I’m still alive,” my hands trembled as I stepped backwards, until a wild wind swept through me, spinning me into another location. “What is this place?” I muttered, my eyes dancing across an enclosed space. It looked more like a basement but had some sort of chambers. Reeking with foul smell, I pinched the bridge of my nose, my forehead layering in folds from the scowl on my face. “Damn it!” Startled to the sudden squeak of a rat, racing out from a corner. Pushing through hanging cobwebs by the walkway, my ears twitched at the sound of a newborn cry. “Huh!” I froze for a moment, not sure if I had heard right or if this whole incident was beginning to play a trick on my senses. The cry intensified causing me to hasten my steps. My jaw dropped the moment I walked in on a delivery. A woman, possibly in her late 20s lay soaked in sweat and blood; she had just given birth. Her blonde hair stuck to her forehead, her breath laboured, as she pulled her baby closer, pressing a kiss on its forehead. A younger lady, dressed in a long dress with an apron tied around her waist, knelt beside her, helping her clean up the blood mess. As usual, my presence was still unnoticed. I moved closer to get a closer view when a part of the wall came crashing in. Instinct drove me into shielding the helpless woman even when I knew it basically did nothing. Looking over my shoulder, a tall, tanned-skinned man marched towards us. Part of his amour, broken. His sword was dripping with fresh blood and a few clots of dried blood were lined on its blade. “Oh my goodness!” He broke into tears at the sight of the woman and her child. I stared, watching the drama unfold. “You did it!” he crooned over her, kissing her forehead, before stroking the baby gently. “Wh…What is going on out there?” The woman rasped. Her eyes were occasionally rolling behind her head from exhaustion. “Varek has bridged almost all of our secured perimeters,” he responded. “But you don’t have to worry honey, I promise to get you and our daughter to safety,” His voice shook as he spoke. Lifting his eyes to meet the other lady, she shook his head. His brows furrowed at her expression. Curious, he asked. “Is everything alright, Jennifer?” She shook her head yet again, her shoulders slumping beside her. “She had lost a lot of blood, Alpha Darius, I’m afraid she might not make it,” she said. Though he nodded in acknowledgment, I could see the devastation in his eyes as he stared down at her and his daughter in his arms. “Alright, we have to move now. The earlier we leave, the likely we can get her some help,” Darius said, handing the baby over to Jennifer. “Come on Liana, I’m sorry, but we have to leave now. We need to get you some help,” Darius whispered, supporting her hand with his. “Ugh!” Liana grunted in pain, falling back on the floor. “I can’t!” She cried. “I can’t. You all need to leave. Get my daughter to safety, please.” Darius and Liana were still going back and forth with the idea of getting her to safety when Jennifer gasped in shock. “Her eyes! Your daughter. She has green eyes!” she announced. Darius hurried over to Jennifer, taking a proper look at the baby. “Damn”, he cursed. “What do we do? Varek and his men couldn't afford to find her!” Darius panicked. Liana requested for her daughter. Darius handed the child over to her. “I could use a spell on her…to…to hide and shield her colored eyes. It could protect her till she’s an adult,” Liana breathed her words. “I can see a passage over here!” a deep voice echoed from the outside walls followed by faint flashes of light coming from the broken wall Darius came from. “They’ve found us!” Jennifer gasped, sweat forming on her forehead. “Give me some seconds,” Liana said before whispering some words, holding her fingers over the infant’s eyes. “Here, take her. ” You need to leave now,” Liana said, handing her daughter over to Jennifer. “Please take care of her for me. When she’s grown up, tell her I loved her.” Tears rolled from her eyes into her ears. Not hesitating, Jennifer nodded, picking up a few clothes to keep the baby warm before running out of the basement. Stuck in a dilemma, I didn’t know whether to stay or follow Jennifer. I somehow allowed my instinct to decide. My legs moved before I could realize, racing behind Jennifer, who somehow found a safe passage out of the basement. Dead bodies littered the cities. Cries and screams were still heard but Jennifer wasn’t relenting in her escape. She snuck through a corner until she found a tunnel. Pitch dark and screaming uncertainties, Jennifer took her chances. It wouldn’t be as bad as having your head severed under Varek’s blade. I followed suit. The deeper I went, the more I felt I was deviating. With my finger tracing the wall, I felt a switch. It felt like a bad idea but on second thought, I needed to see my path. Turning on the light, an incoming blade swiped across my face. I yelled back into reality. “Mom!” I yelled at the top of my voice, thrashing and panting. I made to untangle my duvet from my legs, jolting up from my bed. My heart, threatening to break out of my chest. The clanging of the morning bells made me realise I wasn’t dead after all. It was just a nightmare. “Damn it! For crying out loud, why does this dream keep repeating? Is it until my head finally gets beheaded for real that it’d get to stop?” I grumbled. I looked at the clock. It was 6:15 a.m. “My goodness!” I exclaimed, springing out of bed. I was meant to be in the kitchen with the other maids and any moment, they’d come for me. Not reminiscing over the recurrent dream, I ran into the shower and turned on the sink. While the water rushed like a broken pipe, I reached for my face towel. Cupping a handful of water, I leaned over, washing my face. After the last rinse, I turned off the knob. Lifting my face to the mirror when my pupil turned green. “What the hell!” My feet buckled.
