Kris POV
Cruising my way through the highway to get to Keegan's, I await Peter's message, hoping to get some good news before my arrival. I'm pretty well known for being a problem solver, which just attracts more attention from those that have a lot of problems.
Pulling up to Keegan's large beach mansion, I wave at the guards and they let me in promptly. I give them a light smile on the way in. The moment I park my car, I take my keys out and get a message from Peter.
"Handled. She's getting fined. Pretty pissed about it though. You owe me one." I quickly text back while smirking at my phone.
"Dinner at 71Above?" That's his favorite restaurant, but his detective salary doesn't exactly make it easy for him to eat there, so I am sure he would be delighted if I treated him out for doing this.
"Let me know when. ;)" I smile and text Jenny to make a reservation for me there whenever they are available.
With my purse in hand, I get out of the car to take in the sunny views. He really does have an amazing home, at least it will be all his now. I put the shades on as everything is so bright in this area. I am wearing a pair of white shorts and a pastel blue silk tank top tucked in with a pair of nude sandals. Though I have a nice gray blazer in the car to make my look somewhat professional, I don't bother with it. Keegan is practically an old client now.
One of the maids open up the door to the house and gesture towards the terrace. Pushing my shades from the bridge of my nose to lay on top of my forehead, I take a good look at the founders of Bishops Technologies. They seem surprised to see me, probably because of my age or my gender or my ethnicity. Take your pick. It wouldn't be the first time I have been underestimated.
"Keegan." I say bluntly so that I make sure we take care of this quickly and I can get out of here. "I called my contact and the matter has been taken care of. She's getting fined for violation of the court order. The ballet instructor attested that she was in violation, so the process was pretty simple."
When Keegan first told me about his friends and fellow founders, I advised him to not keep in contact with them during the divorce because it could be seen as hostile in the courts with so many big names in the courtroom. Jessica had her family there while Keegan had his family and workers there. Jessica made the case easy with her attitude towards the help. I just hope his friends aren't going to use this to berate me, though I would like to see them try. I can hold my own if I need to.
"And how do we know that this isn't going to happen again?" Hunter, I believe his name is asks me that question. I am not too familiar with them, but I am no i***t. They run Bishops Technologies with an iron fist. All of them grew up together and came to Los Angeles with a dream and they achieved it. It's quite the fairytale.
"I believe she's getting a pretty good run down of what will happen if she does violate her court order again." I offer a wicked smile that Hunter seems to be pleased with and he snickers flirtatiously in return, but that part I ignore. Pointing my attention to Keegan, I take a breath before saying anything else. "I warned you that this might happen for the first couple of weeks. It takes time for parents to adjust to a new lifestyle and I am sure Jessica's lifestyle isn't foreseeable since her income has dwindled to her parents."
"I know. I know." Keegan takes a frustrated seat while I continue standing with the other four who seem to stare a lot. Trying my best to not roll my eyes at them, I remain neutral and calm.
"How old are you?" Liam asks me sort of out of the blue. His light blue eyes are a dead giveaway to who he is.
"26." I answer quickly.
"You're younger than us?" Elijah exclaims more in a surprise remark than a question so I don't answer and just shrug at him. I think the youngest of them is Keegan and he's 27, but I am not too sure.
"There's a ring on your finger. Married?" Hunter takes a look at me like I am prey, but not creepy in the way that Andrew did.
"Yes." Again, my voice is blunt. This isn't about me. Why the hell are they interrogating me? "If that's all you need from me Keegan, I will take my leave."
"Sounds like a challenge." Hunter says to the rest of his boys and they laugh a bit. "How about I take you to dinner?" He's going to hit on a married woman? I laugh inside, but I don't do anything out of line in front of them. This isn't exactly the first time someone has thought of making my wedding ring a challenge for their own personal conquest. I set my hands on the table and square off with him, looking straight into his eyes.
"You can't handle me." I put up a warning smile before pushing off against the table and put an eyebrow up at Keegan. Seriously? These are his friends?
"We'll see about that." He smiles widely at me, which lets me know he's just playing around but that the banter is fun for him. I hum a bit while waiting for Keegan to dismiss me. He is the reason I am here, not them.
"Do I call you when this happens again?" Keegan leans back against his chair and makes a hard gesture at Hunter to cut it out, which Hunter takes pretty seriously. Not bad, it's like these dogs are leashed.
"You can, but it's better if you call the authorities yourself. That way, they can document that you have filed these complaints specifically. In the event that this becomes a much bigger deal, you'll have a stronger case to sue her if necessary." I state simply and feel my cell phone vibrate. Quickly checking the content of the message, I excuse myself to Keegan's living room.
Kane POV
"Holy s**t!" Elijah exclaims when Kris excused herself to walk out of here. "She's smoking hot." Even I have to agree, she's insanely sexy even with her casual clothes. Her hair is dyed ashy brown and ashy gray, but she held it up in a messy bun. That tank top was low enough to show some cleavage but not too much. You can tell she has a huge rack and her ass is perky against those tight white jeans. I'm hard just thinking about her.
"Did you sleep with her?" Hunter nestles at Keegan, but Keegan swats him away.
"Of course not!" He is clearly annoyed about this, but he's not blind. He had to have seen how hot that girl is and that comment that she made towards Hunter, holy s**t. She is feisty and doesn't back down from a fight that's for sure.
"So, she's fair game?" Hunter opens his arms to us as it looks like a challenge is upon us. We all snicker at one another, but Keegan is not having it.
"No. She is off limits." Keegan slams his hand on the table once to get our attention. We have a rule that if someone says someone is off limits, we all have to abide by it. For instance, I made my sister off limits, which is why Elijah never contacted her.
"Oh, come on, man." Hunter says jokingly, but Keegan gives him a glare that shuts him right up. Nodding to agree, we await for her to return. She was standing next to me when she placed her hands down at the table to face off against Hunter and she smelled like strawberries. f**k, I'm getting hard again. I have to think about something else because there's no way I'm not going to try to tap that if otherwise.
"That was my contact." Kris comes back in to see us all sheepishly looking in her direction instead of gawking at her. She raises an eyebrow at all of us, curious to why our sudden demeanors have changed. I don't blame her, but the way she first came here and her large breasts bounced up and down, it definitely made it harder for me not to hit on her.
"Go ahead." Keegan gestures for her to continue.
"Jessica hit a cop. She's in jail for the night." We all laugh at this which again surprises Kris, but she ignores it. "If she tries again, just call the authorities, that way they can pull up that information and be prepared that she's not going easy." She nods towards Keegan and takes her leave. We all breathe out as I am sure it took everything for the three of us to not hit on her when she came back.
"How did you not tap that?" Hunter again jabs at Keegan to which now we all take a crack at.
"She's married!" Keegan tries to defend himself.
"Like that's stopped you before?" Elijah opens one up and we all bust it out, remembering old times.
"It's not like that. Plus, she's a great friend."
"Guys aren't friends with girls like that." Liam points towards where Kris left.
"Seriously though, off limits?" Hunter perks up his eyebrow at Keegan and Keegan confirms this. s**t.
"Alright, rules are rules gentlemen." I say to them as I snicker at Hunter, who probably wanted to rip her clothes off right here in front of us when she made that comment.
"When she said I wouldn't be able to handle her, I almost f*****g lost it." He lets out, proving my guess. It's not hard, we all love a challenge. If we didn't, we wouldn't be where we are now, professionally I mean.
"Alright, alright. Let's celebrate tonight! The b***h is in jail!" Liam puts a glass in the air to fake a toast to which we all laugh at him but join in nonetheless.
"Where are we going?" Keegan smiles at us, finally getting involved with us again.
"Dinner at 71Above?" Liam suggests. "The old place?" We smile and nod at his suggestion. 71Above was the restaurant that we had all dreamed of going to when we first got to Los Angeles, but we were so f*****g broke. When our company skyrocketed, we were able to make a reservation and used to go out there for our monthly hangout.
"Let's do 9 PM? It gives us enough time to go to some of the clubs around there too." Hunter winks at the rest of us as Keegan just shakes his head.
"That's fine. I'll put London to bed at 8:30 PM tonight instead of 9 PM." He gives us a light smile and we all smile back at him. We have our friend back and that's all that matters.
"Yes!" Elijah screams as we finish up our lunch. We say goodbyes to Keegan and London and get back into my car since I drove us all out here.
"Damn, I wasn't expecting that this morning." Hunter states as we drive back.
"Oh s**t, we forgot to ask him about coming to Bel-Air to live." Liam leans back against his seat as I focus on driving.
"We can ask him tonight." I tell him. "Besides, we have all the time to convince him to live next to us. No Jessica, no more restrictions." I smile back at Liam through the rearview mirror.
"You're right." Liam pats my shoulder as crank up the music in the car while driving home. After dropping them off, I get inside my mansion to see that it is cleaned up after that girl last night, which is fantastic. I don't know how many sheets we go through with all my adventures as of late.
"Magnus!" I call out to my husky and he is quick to come over. After entertaining him for a bit, I work on some things for the company. Electronically signing some programs to be initiated, I notice the time and get ready for tonight. It's been awhile since we have all been together in the town, so I am sure tonight will be entertaining to say the least.
