Kane POV
I knew it was going to be a gamble trying to keep Kris in the hospital. She's not exactly the type to sit still. This morning I had given Marina two weeks off so that she can visit her family in Russia. She deserves it, more than deserves it. But, I can't do this alone. I need Kris to do this with me.
"Just until Selena and Jessica are caught." Her eyelash flutters as she ponders the idea. There's a surprise awaiting her, she just needs to say yes. I take a glance at my phone and see that it's finished up. Magnus is at the vet and will be fine. Thank God.
"I don't know, Kane. That might give off the wrong impression. Plus, I don't think they'll come after me again so soon." She gives me a light smile that makes this warm fuzzy feeling in my chest arise. Damn
