Aniyah POV
"WAKE UP, YOU LAZY SCOUNDREL!" Chassity threw a bucket of hog sh*t, completely covering me and my pathetic excuse of a mattress. At least it would be easy to clean. I am not allowed sheets, blankets, or anything remotely comfortable.
"BE OUTSIDE IN 5 MINUTES FOR YOUR WEEKLY HOSING! I don't want your stench to run my mate off. I will be a Luna. I cannot wait to be away from you!" Chassity slung her bleached blonde hair over her shoulder and left the door of my closet ajar. Yes, I said closet. I wasn't allowed anything, only a closet and a toddler's mattress. Add in the endless emotional, physical, and mental abuse from my packmates, and boom, you have the world's biggest reject.
I hate Chassity with everything in me. She is a year older than me; she turned 18 last month. She acts like it is my fault that she hasn’t met her mate. She has been bullying me since we were in preschool. I haven't attended school since I was 5 years old. When my parents died, my life died as well. I had to teach myself with the school items that the packmates threw out.
I headed outside for the dreadful hosing. They use the house that is connected to our fire truck. I am not usually allowed soap, but with the Alpha visiting today, they feel it is needed. As I stand beside the forest, a warrior dumps dish detergent on my head and splashes laundry detergent on my clothes. I thought I saw a flash of pity in his eyes, but I could be mistaken. He signals to the warrior standing beside the fire truck and the cold water shoots from the hose, the pressure sending me backward as I fight to remain upright.
“YES, MORE PRESSURE! SPRAY THE W****!” I hear Chassity shouting and I repeat, I HATE HER. The water continues to pelt my skin for what feels like an eternity. Finally, the warriors turn the water off and I can finally breathe again. Chassity throws a black bag at my feet. In it is a brush from the horse stables, and a server uniform. Whoopty do, they went all out for the arrival of this Alpha.
“Make sure you are presentable, if you run my Alpha off with your ugly looks or nasty smell, I will make you wish you weren’t born.” Chassity sneers as she twirls on her heel walking back into the packhouse.
“Girl, f**k you,” I whispered under my breath. Mentally fuming because of her words. She will regret everything she has done to me. I hope the day comes when I can wrap my fingers around her s***ty throat.
‘It's OK Ni, we don’t smell as bad as her rancid breath. I guess that can’t be washed, brushed, nor hosed.’ I chuckled as Lene added her two cents to my monologue. I am not allowed in the house afterward because no one wants water on the floor. Does it matter if I am the one that has to clean the water up anyway? No kids are playing outside, it is quiet and desolate. Everyone who doesn’t live in the packhouse stays home. It seems there is a gray forcefield over the Crescent Moon Pack. There is no love or happiness in the air. The only time I see people smile is when they can inflict some type of pain on me.
I changed behind the house, using the horse brush to tame my hair as I wrung the access water out of my tresses. Once my hair was detangled enough, I put it in a single braid that came just down to my knees. I wasn’t allowed scissors to trim my hair. Honestly, no one cared about my maintenance. Thank you, Alpha Asher, whomever you are. I am now a little cleaner than I’ve ever been. With a deep breath, I walked into the house to resume my god-awful duties. I helped to prepare the food and gather the drinks. As expected, no one wished me a happy birthday and I was fine with that. Alpha Dimitri and Luna Cristina entered the kitchen to appraise our preparations.
They appeared to be satisfied, so I was able to release the breath I wasn't aware that I was holding. My last run-in with Luna Christina left me stripped, tied to a car, and bleeding from the numerous whip lashings she gave me. All I did was not put enough sugar in her afternoon tea. I should've given her Wolfsbane instead. It is detrimental to our kind. Anyway, moving on! Chassity followed behind her parents, the ever-faithful Alpha's daughter.
"Everything needs to be perfect for my mate. I don't want Asher to be unhappy." Chassity whined to her parents.
