1. Filthy Omega
"You gutless b***h, you are practically a human. F*****g Omega filth." Chassity spat her words with venom as she stared down at a shaking Aniyah. As the Alpha’s daughter, Chassity had free reign to terrorize anyone in the pack without fear of being reprimanded. As usual, her scorn and deviousness were always directed towards Aniyah. "If we didn't know your parents, I would swear by it. Why do you have no scent?" Chassity can still be heard talking as she stomped down the steps. Her parents’, Head warrior Travis Grant and his mate Tazi, between the two, Aniyah got her hair and facial features from her mother, yet her eye color resembled that of her father’s eyes. Aniyah stood at 5'10", which put her around the height of the smallest werewolf male, but she was tall for a she-wolf. Her emerald, green eyes were always downcast for fear of offending someone. With dark brown hair that cascaded down her back in a matted mess, Aniyah wasn't a pleasant sight to see. She was never allowed a real shower, only the occasional wash-up in the half bathroom or when someone decided to hose her off, which wasn't very often. It had been almost 12 years of abuse and neglect; Aniyah knew better than to think happiness would find her before a long and painful death. 'Lene, are you still with me?' Aniyah questioned her wolf. She needed her comfort. 'Always Ni, just hold on a little longer. Better days are coming. I know you are sad about not having a scent, but everything happens for a reason.' Her wolf responded. Aniyah was thankful to be a werewolf. Even though she had zero people in the world who cared about her, and zero friends, she was never alone. Having a wolf was like having a built-in best friend. At least she had someone to speak with, someone who knew the real her. These so-called pack members knew nothing about her. Their collective goal was to make her life miserable. As Aniyah cleaned the sparsely furnished packhouse, dusting and polishing, she wished she had been born anywhere else because Crescent Moon was a terrible place. Alpha Dimitri and Luna Christina put on airs of being rich, but the pack is financially in trouble. Alpha’s daughter, Chassity, doesn’t contribute. She is constantly squandering money on clothes and shoes. Ridiculous ‘art pieces’ that shouldn’t even be displayed in a jailhouse. Aniyah made her way downstairs, her purple bruises shined bright against her porcelain skin. Pack members openly stared at her with disgust plastered on their faces. No one could explain to her why they disliked her so much. The only thing she could see wrong was that her parents had died. Granted, they didn't die in a rogue attack nor do anything spectacular. Travis was diagnosed with cancer. Due to their werewolf genes, the cancer progressed fast, treatment couldn’t help. Almost as soon as he received the diagnosis, he went to live with the moon goddess 6 months later. All wolves return to the moon goddess after death. Tazi followed behind her beloved 2 months later. In less than a year, Aniyah was on her own, left with bittersweet memories and the training that she used to do with her parents. Tomorrow was her birthday; now no one knew that she already had her wolf. Most werewolves meet their inner wolf and have their first shift on their 17th birthday. However, Aniyah met Lene on her 5th birthday, 6 days before her mother passed away. Maybe this also raised the divide between Aniyah and the packmates. None of her peers asked if she had a wolf, they just assumed she didn’t. Well, you know what they say about people that assume. Warrior Tazi Grant, her mother, made her promise to not tell anyone and to never try to shift. As an omega without a scent and no wolf, as far as anyone knew. Lene had to slowly heal Aniyah and carry 95 percent of her pain to avoid suspicion. Aniyah did not know why, but she felt the urgency to keep her wolf secret. It reverberated in her bones, causing a panic to swell within her. Regardless of what happened, she wouldn’t tell a soul if she could not trust them. No one knew what was yet to come. One of the other omegas shoved Aniyah into the corner of the counter. No sound was made. Aniyah took a deep breath to control Lene. She didn’t need her angry wolf to lose control. As the day turned into night, Aniyah had finished her preparations. The Alpha of Shadow Fury will be visiting. Never had she been able to see another Alpha up close. How would he act? Would he be mean like Alpha Dimitri? This should be fun.
