7. No Wolf

Kiery POV

What the heck did I just witness? I can’t believe Asher just found his mate, then she kicked Alpha Dimitri’s daughter’s a**. I am definitely here for it!

'ASHER, what in the actual f**k?! Is our Luna bad a**ed or what?' I mind linked to my Alpha.

'Kiery, looking at her black eyes and emaciated body, I would say she was terribly abused in that pack. Maybe she was happy to finally get a little revenge. Smell the air once we enter the car.’ What is he getting at? Why do I have to smell the air? He may lose a Beta if I scent his mate, Zeus would definitely k*ll me. We all loaded back up into the SUV.

'Bro, she does look f***ed up. I don't want to imagine what was done to her.' I glance back at Luna Aniyah, but she is preoccupied staring out of the window. This might be the first time she has actually, seen outside of the borders. I doubt they actually let her leave. I quietly scent the air and I am shocked. Luna Aniyah is an omega. How could someone be ranked as the lowest wolf but take down a Beta wolf without breaking a sweat?

'No way, an omega bro? How did she take down Chassity? It's not possible for an omega to overpower a beta. Are you able to communicate with her wolf?' Asher lifts his head to glance over at Luna Aniyah.

'I can smell her scent, but I cannot sense her wolf?' Well, where the h*ll is her wolf?

'That is odd, do you think she may not be of age yet?' Since Asher is an Alpha, he would be able to scent his mate before she comes of age. This allows an alpha to identify their mate early on and be able to protect them for the future of their pack.

'Doesn't hurt to find out. Ask her.' Oh yeah, just send me into the fire. I don’t want her to kick my a** next.

'Is the big bad Alpha scared of his new mate?' I can’t pass up a taunt.

'To h*ll with you Kiery! Ask the damn questions! I don't want to scare her.' I chuckled to myself, you would think that by him being 6' 7" and packed with muscles, he wouldn't be scared of a tiny woman.

"Luna Aniyah, is it?" I gently asked, gaining her attention. She has the prettiest green eyes that I have ever seen. "I am Beta Kiery Tibbens, of the Shadow Fury pack."

"It is nice to meet you, Beta Kiery, Aniyah is fine." She smiled and it made me feel warm inside. So stinking sweet and soft spoken. Alpha is in trouble! I like her already. There is something about her smile that is drawing my wolf, Thanos, in. He wants to protect her, but I guess that is expected since she is our Luna after all.

"So, if you don't mind me asking, how old are you?" Her eyes flashed with what I imagined was pain, but it was gone as soon as I saw it. Judging by her bruises, I know she has a story to tell. I just hope that we are prepared when she is ready to tell it.

"I am 17 years old today." Wow, she's just a pup and today is her birthday. She got stuck having to serve us on her big day. She should be outside preparing to meet and shift into her wolf.

"Happy Birthday Luna, I will have to get a pretty gift for a pretty lady. Have you met your wolf or shifted yet?" Luna Aniyah giggled but looked hesitant to respond.

"No, I haven't. Maybe before tonight is up." That is really odd. It is getting darker by the moment outside; she should have at least met her wolf by now. They should be getting to know each other in order to prepare for their shift. The first shift is painful, it feels as if your body is being ripped apart. I guess you can say it is because all of the bones are breaking and readjusting themselves to allow our human side to transition into our werewolf side.

What I learned from research is, there are a couple of reasons for not having a wolf. You will never get one, you may be a late bloomer, or the goddess is at work. We need to figure out which one of these cases applies to our Luna. An omega can become a luna, but it is unheard of for an omega luna not to have a wolf. It would be nearly impossible for her to protect her pack, especially if something happened to the alpha.

"No worries, well, we should be home in about 2 hours. Rest if you would like." Leaning on the window, Luna Aniyah closes her eyes for a nap.
