4. Rejected

Asher POV As I stepped out of the black SUV and sniffed the air, ‘Mate is here. Beta keep a close eye on her once I find her.’ I mind link my group. Beta Kiery nods his head in affirmation that he understands my request. My head warrior exits the SUV, scenting the air as well. ‘Alpha, my mate is here as well.’ He is excited that he was blessed by the goddess. We are all in our early 20s and up to this point, most of us haven't met our mates yet. My beta and warrior in training exit the SUV, smiling at the recent turn of events. We came here to appease Dimitri with a dinner in hopes of accommodating their request for a joint treaty. As we approach the Crescent Moon packhouse, it doesn’t appear to be that big and the paint needs to be refreshed. Even some landscaping and decorations would do the home some justice. The ranking wolves are standing at the door waiting to greet us. The looks on their faces look like they are plotting something. We will have to be cautious about this visit, especially since our mates are involved. "MATE!" My warrior and I said at the same time, as our eyes landed on the group of people standing at the door. I frowned, because, aside from the Luna, I only saw 1 other woman at the door. How can both of our wolves sense a mate? I don’t want the fake Luna nor her s**t of a daughter. This is something I would reject. Chassity ran and hopped into my arms. ‘DROP IT!’ Zeus growled at me. There were no magic sparks, and she did not smell like the fresh-cut lilacs that had invaded my senses. As soon as she jumped into my arms, my stomach began to twist and bubble with disgust. "MINE!" My warrior's eyes flickered between his natural brown and the black that showed that his wolf was present. I will excuse him for the disrespect. I know our wolves are possessive by nature. With a thud, I dropped Chassity onto her feet. I didn’t want her filth on me any longer. I hope someone else is in that doorway because I do not see Christina being my mate! "NO! How can this be? I AM MEANT TO BE LUNA!" Chassity began screeching like a banshee. Like h*ll would she ever be my Luna? My warrior kneeled at Chassity's feet as pain crossed his eyes with her statement. "You are my mate; do you deny me?" He asked Chassity, with an extended hand. Chassity took his hand and held a fake smile plastered on her face. I knew nothing good would come of this and immediately began feeling sorry for my friend. "What is your name mate?" She asked. " Head Warrior Danny Burg of the Shadow Fury Pack," Danny responded with a megawatt smile. Danny thought she was going to accept him, but I could see the rejection on her face plain as day. " Great, I, Chassity Jones, of the Crescent Moon Pack, REJECT you, Danny Burg, as my mate!" Chassity kicked up the dirt with her heels and ran back towards me. How is she not uncomfortable running in that sk**ky body con dress? I know breathing is not an option for her. "Take me as your chosen mate and Luna, I am powerful. You won't regret it." I will not be taking her as anything. It is absurd that she would think she is on my level. I am glad the moon goddess did not mate me with her. I left Chassity standing in the yard as I continued my search for my mate. I made a mental note to check on Dan. I can’t imagine how he feels being rejected and then having to watch the mate that rejected him beg to be with none other than his alpha and friend. ‘Mate, human, find my mate now!’ Zeus was becoming impatient. I knew if I did not find our mate, he would force the shift to find her himself. As I get closer to the house, the scent gets stronger. I walked up the six uneven steps, stepping into the foyer, I finally lay eyes on my mate. 'Zeus, it's a plain OMEGA!' I was not happy with the ridiculously tall, black-haired green-eyed woman who stood before me holding drinks. 'It is our mate! We need a mate!' I knew that it was important to accept the mate bond and keep her nearby. It would help me to become an even stronger alpha and heirs produced by a true mate are pure and strong! "Name Omega!" I demanded from her. She looked scared with her head down. "Aniyah Grant." She whispered.
