Prologue
The sky is so gloomy looks like any time heavy rain will pour just like what Riley is feeling despite her family around her diverting her attention and pulling her to her reverie. Before him, he can forget and pretend everything is fine after a fight with her father, but now is different he can’t even smile and laugh with them even speaking to them is forced that is immediately notice by her family. She know she is hurting them with her silence and she just pretend to sleep.
“Time is up my love,I gave you space already to think. Now have you decide already?” Riley said with a neutral face, putting her mask on to the man who once make her take it off.
“R-ri, please you know you are important to me too.” Trevor notice it and he doesn’t like his gut feeling. In the past days is mess for him. His mom is sick and forcing him to marry to someone she agree.
“Same as you to me. But I don’t want to lose myself in begging for your attention from your family.” Honesty can be feel to her.
“R-riley…” But instead of butterflies, his whole body trembled and eyes instantly became glassy. He doesn’t like where the conversation is going.
“I understand that family comes first Trevor, b-but I see it, I can feel it your mom is using her illness just so she will push you to another woman.” Trevor knows it, and as a family oriented man too much, he tolerated her mother.
“You know I always avoid her my love, I always face time with you, I lo-” Trevor’s phone suddenly cut him off, a call from his mom. Riley saw it and a bitter and knowing smile cross her face before Trevor can even see it.
Obviously, Trevor is thorn between answering or not and Riley help her. “You can answer it-” Trevor stare at her for a moment his mind in a turmoil. He tap the answer button then Riley continued her words as the other line is a panicking voice of a girl. “-I will get my pity answer on it”
Girl in the other line“Trevor! Your mom is rushed to hospital again!” Then came the voice of his father. “P-please come here immediately son.”
Panic hit him, he want to see his mother but at the same time he don’t want to leave. That’s what Riley is seeing in him, She remained silent watching how Trevor struggle. Trevor is very observant man even to tiniest details. Just like how he knows her well than anyone.
Trevor is scared just to how calm she is, she never show to him what she really feels. For the first time, she felt chosen by the man he love as he step toward her rushing and tightly hugging her and press a long deep kiss in her forehead, but it’s instantly crushed when his next words send a sharp stab her that she tremble in keeping all at bay.
“ I-Im sorry R-Ri… I’ll m-make it up to y-you. I love you..” Then he ran towards his car and only the screeching wheel and car speeding up is what she heard as she stare to nothing, left alone. Again. A bitter laugh came out to her like crazy while her tears spilling free like a waterfall, her heart clenching hurtfully that she start to punch her chest harder.
