Chapter 19Ether: Willow
It had been hours since I'd started walking and I hoped this was the right direction. Maps were not my thing. Even with my hood up, I still encountered strange stares and staring back made it worse. I had to remind myself to stop doing that.
This place was odd and the polluted smell made it worse. There was hardly any vegetation other than an occasional tree or a plant sitting alone between homes or shops. The sidewalk was made of concrete and even though the cracks were filled with a slick blue material they were unevenly done. I stumbled over the patchy walkway and had been sliding on the smooth parts ever since the rain started.
