chapter 7

Anna has taken so long in the bathroom , so i told Laura to go check on her a minute ago , that's when i have heard it .

" Alex ! , hurry up " Laura shouted , we ran upstairs ,all that came to my mind was one word 'Anna !' something was wrong i can feel it , when we reached the door , Laura stood there knocking on the door furiously , trying to get un , she even tried kicking the door open .

" SHE FELL , we have to get in there , something happened " when i heard those words , i pushed the door open with my shoulder , and there she was , Anna , lying on the floor unconscious , we ran to her but then i saw what made her faint , my father standing in front of our house scaring her away , i knew he would do that , he had to make sure she didn't speak about sarah , i knew i had to stop him somehow but i can't let him know that i know what he's up too , so i looked at him acting confused as if i am not aware of why he is doing that , he just got his eyes back to normal , reduced the white glow to none and gave me a normal smile , i looked away at the girl who was the victim for all of this , she is why i came back , i had to protect her , she's also why i left because if i didn't , Anna would have been subjected to human computers on a daily basis , and i couldn't let that happen .

I lifted Anna , took her to her room and put her in her bed , i tried telling our friends to leave but they won't leave her like that , i know it's a good thing they love their friend and worry about her , but their existence here would cause more trouble .

When my father and I left town for college , my father was hell bent on sending me to his college saying it's the best and all that bull , the only reason i refused was because i didn't want to be at the same building as him , it was enough i was living with the guy , but through the years strange things happened , inhuman people started coming to our house , Don't get me wrong they are in the form of humans and all , but they were subjected to some sick medical test at my father's college which converted their minds into some kind of computers , they don't think like us anymore , they just sit there frozen in the spot with lifeless eyes , gathering all the data they have gathered and letting the machine get the results , it was sick to say the least , but my father was very proud of his invention , so he decided to get the best students with the highest GBA , that's why so many students go to his college on scholership , everything was going great for him , students became more smart with amount of data they download into their systems every month , they could memorize almost every information there is in their field , but they could never create or come up with new theories , always sticking to the book , my father actually was working on that department , so that he could make the human being able to do both , and that's when everything gone wrong , the student my father chose ran away , i think she couldn't take all the information and experiences done on her , i didn't know things have gone out of hand until i have seen who was that student , it was Sarah , our friend Sarah , and everyday i say i wish , i wish i could have stopped my father , i wish i could have done something , but knowing him , he has all different connections in different places , specially with the government , so messing with him means missing with the country , so that is why i took another major , i decided to learn about the human brain as much as possible , also there was the plan of convincing my father that iam on his side , i wanted him to let me to be among his team of creators , so i can see with my own eyes how they do what they do , there must be a way to redo things , to get them back to what they used to be , humans .

I was awaken from my thoughts with a scream , and i knew it was Anna , we ran to her room , she must have had a bad dream because of my father , looking at her like that sobbing while Laura comforted her was heart breaking , and i knew it's time to start acting more efficiently , i must stop my father before things get to Anna , I don't want her to be subjected into something like that anymore , I want her to have her normal life back , without looking at everything around her waiting for attack , she shouldn't feel that , no one should feel that .

After Laura comforted Anna , our friends decided it was time for them to go home and i couldn't be more happy , i needed them to leave now or they would be subjected to more dangerous things than they know , i stood in the window watching them leave the street well , and then i turned to Anna , and I knew i had to tell her .

"How are you feeling now ? " I asked her trying to start easy .

" Iam fine , why were you watching them leave ? " She looked confused

" I had to make sure they were safe " I told her honestly , i can hear her thoughts from here .

" What do you mean , what could happen to them ? " Still confused

" Anna , I need you to ask something of you please " i waited for her to nod and when she did i continued , i took her hand in mine and kept thinking on how to tell her what iam about to say , how can I when i know it will break her heart , but she has to know , so i take a deep breath and look her in the eye and say the words that might haunt her for a while .

" I need you to forget you ever saw Sarah the last couple of days "
