Chapter two

" Hello , Iam Sarah , the new neighbor " there before me stood my lifetime friend , introducing herself as if she never met me before !

"Excuse me ! " I felt angry all of a sudden , is she mocking me or something ! , How can she just knock on my door , introducing herself like nothing happened , like she didn't throw away years of friendship for no reason ! .

" I'm Sarah , your new neighbor ? " She seemed hesitant because of my outburst , if I didn't know better , i would have believed her , she seemed kind of guinue from the way she is talking , but i wasn't going to be fooled .

" Are you crazy or something !? , I can't believe you have the nerve to show up on my front door after all you've done ! " I felt so angry , how could she show up and say hi like nothing happened ! , It's like history repeating itself all-over again , it was years ago , when we were little kids , she knocked on our door and said hi , we became friends ever since , but then i didn't know what kind of friend is she , now i know .

" Iam not following you " sarah said with confusion written all over her face , for a second there i almost believed her that she might have forgotten or something , but then again how can you forget a person you spent most of your life with ! , And she doesn't seem sick or anything , she looked completely normal , infact she looked different , I don't know how exactly , but she is not the same Sarah i know .

" Please just go to your house and Don't knock on my door ever again " I shut the door in her face , i felt so angry , she is acting innocence as if she did nothing , as if I am the one at fault , i tried to forget about what happened by going back to watch TV to continue the episode i was watching to find it's over

" Great ! Just great , first with college , then Sarah and now this ! " I felt so angry , everything was going wrong , i turned off the TV and went to my room so i can sleep , but a light outside my window caught my attention , i peeked through the curtains and found Sarah standing in front of her house not getting in , i wonder why ? , But then i thought , why should i care ! , She didn't care about our friendship , but then i felt sorry for her , i know her parents died a couple of years ago , she didn't attend the funeral and till this day I don't know why , she kept looking left and right as if she is waiting for someone to come , but what happened next made me so confused , Sarah's knocking on the door , calling for her mom to open the door , i kept on rubbing my eyes , i even pinched myself and it hurt , to find out if this is a dream , but it wasn't , Sarah was really knocking on her parents house calling for her mom waiting for her to open the door , i made me think , first she acted strange a while ago , then she stopped talking altogether , she only stayed in contact with her parents for a couple of months after that , she didn't attend her parents' funeral , she comes home today knocking on my door saying hi as if she doesn't know me , and now this !

Something isn't right here , how can she forget all that ? , Is she sick or something ? , But she looked perfectly normal except for her weight loss .

I contemplated my options , it's either go to sleep which is the easiest choice considering what she's done to me , or go help her out which kind of the right thing to do but also the hardest .

I unlocked my door and went outside , sarah was still knocking , i took my keys , closed the door and went to the neighbors house .

" There is no one in there " i told her calmly so I won't frighten her , i don't really know what's gotten into her to forget all these things , she looked at me and then back at the door , she had a sad look on her face , and i kept telling myself not to believe her .

" Why ? " That's the only thing she said , why ? I didn't know if i should tell her the truth , this kind of information might cause her a panic attack if she was still the girl i know , or it could do something to her considering her illness , but i couldn't lie to her about it .

" They died a couple of years ago , Don't you remember ? , I called you so many times for months and you didn't answer nor returned the call " i was so confused and looking at her right now , i saw the signs , the shock , the panick , the clammy hands rubbing on her jeans , her breathing going shallow , i knew it all too well .

" That's okay Sarah , breath , I've got you , breath " it took a little soothing for her to get over it , but i couldn't stop her tears from falling , looking at her now as she clutches my blouse and cries her heart out says something for sure , Sarah didn't know , i wonder if she lost her phone , or if someone stole it , but it can't be , even if that happened she would have remembered me .

" C'mon , let's get you inside " i took sarah to my house , prepared the spare room for her to sleep in and lent her one of my PJs , it was her favorite one actually , she used to wear it all the time whenever she crashed at my house .

" Thank you for the pijamas , they are very comfortable , and for letting me stay , i know you don't like me , i will leave first thing in the morning , good night " i stared at her as she left for her room , there is something wrong going on with her and iam going to find out what it is , sad or not , i will find out what happened to Sarah .
