Chapter 10

*Two Weeks later

Emily's POV

I cant believe the two weeks have gone by. It is Friday the 08th October and mine and Jake's birthday is on the 09th October. Aubrey and I are waiting in our spot for Forest Hill High to arrive at our school. We see the busses and I can't help the excitement I feel. Eric and I have been speaking every day and I honestly can't wait to see him and Jake.

Jake gets off the bus, followed by Eric.  Before I can even register, I am running towards them. I throw my arms around Eric's neck and hug him tightly to myself. He does the same and swings me around. I feel those tingles I felt the first time we met. His blonde hair is a mess, but that hot kind of mess and his green eyes are glistening with excitement. He puts me down and I go to hug Jake hello, I hear a soft growl behind me. I turn to Eric who quickly looks away. Did he just growl at us?

Jake's POV

I hug Emily and Aubrey hello. It's good to see them again. I know Eric and Emily have been talking every day. He won't shut up about it. He is a love sick puppy, pun intended. I only hope to find my mate soon.

We get ready for the game against the Fighting Pheonixes. We are warming up on the field when I see that b***h and her minions make their way up to Emily and Aubrey. I freeze and Eric's eyes follow mine. I hear him growl as he tries to make his way over to help the girls. "We can't cause a scene Eric, let's just see what happens" I say. "But what if they hurt mate?", I look over at Eric and see his eyes gleam gold, I know that Midnight has pushed through and taken control. "We won't let them hurt her Midnight, now bring Eric back before someone sees you" I say with authority. Midnight blinks a few times and Eric's green eyes are back. "I'm so sorry man, he just took over control" he says.

Emily's POV

I'm watching Eric warm up with Jake when Alexis stands infront of me. "They aren't close enough to protect you now" she sneers. "What do two guys like that want with losers like you anyway? You would never beable to please him the way I know I can, or are you a little slut pretending to be all innocent, I bet thats it!" She mocks and her minions laugh. "Let me guess Emily, you like that Eric guy, I'm sure if I go over there and whisper sweet nothings into his ear, he would not beable to resist me" she licks her lips and gives me a wicked smile.

"I'll just make my way over there then, watch how a real woman gets a man like that", all of a sudden I feel this incredible amount of anger and I see red. I slap her through the face and as she is about to slap me back, I catch her hand and twist her arm behind her back, "You will leave me and my friends alone or I will make you regret ever looking in our direction" I say through clenched teeth. I didn't realize how quiet the entire school and football field went and they were all looking at me and Alexis. I push her forward away from me. "You will regret this Adams" she says before walking away with her gang of skanks.

"Woah, what was that?" Aubrey says to me. "I don't know, she just got under my skin, that's all". "I didn't even know you could do that... you moved so fast to dodge her slap, that was awesome!!" Aubrey says excitedly. I look over at the field and see Jake and Eric are not there anymore. Suddenly I feel his presence behind me.

"Are you ok Emmy, did she hurt you?" Eric asks worried about me. "Are you girls ok?" Jake asks. My new friends are so awesome.

"Emily totally put Alexis on her place, did you see that?" Aubrey gushes. "We saw... what did she say to you?" Eric asks. I blush and try to look away. He puts his hand on my cheek and I immediately feel the tingles, they are stronger than before and it feels good.

"She said she doesn't know what two guys like you want with losers like us, then she said she was going to show you what a real woman is like and take you away from me" I look down but Eric won't have it. He lifts my chin so I am looking him directly in the eyes... "You're not going to get rid of me that easy" he says looking deep into my eyes. "Awwww you guys are so cute" Aubrey shouts excitedly. I look over to Jake to see he is shaking and seething from anger.
