The Prophecy

Chapter 19

Emily's POV

I open the door and Aubrey immediately jumps onto me. "I was so nervous... are you ok?!! You scared me... What happened? Is Jake ok?" She starts throwing questions my way while hugging me tight. "Aubrey... I can't breathe" I say trying to move away slightly. "Oh gosh I'm sorry Emmy" she let's go but keeps her hands on my shoulders. She looks me up and down to make sure I'm really ok. "I'm fine Aubs, I promise", I say to my best friend. I didn't realize that my family has stepped out of the kitchen. "Oh, hi everyone..."Aubrey says.

We walk into the living room and everyone greets Aubrey. Jake introduces her to his... um our... parents. "Oh yes, happy birthday Emmy and Jake!! I almost forgot"... she says. Everyone looks around nervously while smiling awkwardly.

"OK... let's address the elephant in the room, what happened? Everyone looks really stressed right now... and lastnight was weird right? It was weird..." she says all rushed out looking at all of us. "We can trust her and tell her the truth" Snow says to me. I almost forgot she was there and got a fright when she spoke.

"Let me be frank guys... I am not an ordinary human, and neither are you... so please just tell me whats going on" she says shocking all of us. "What do you mean Aubrey? I don't understand?" I say to her. I can see everyone around me becoming protective. "I am a witch Emmy... my family and I stay hidden as people are generally not too fond of our kind due to some bad apples... but there are still good witches out there like my family and I. We choose to stay hidden though and generally dont practice magic often" she says honestly. The silence is deafening...

Alpha Jack clears his throat and we all look at him, "Well given the nature of the circumstances Miss Aubrey, you can understand why we are a little reluctant to share pack information with a witch. Why can we not smell you? Witches have a smell that allows us to detect their kind just like we have a smell to you... that's why you know about us..." he says. I am learning so much... what do we smell like? Now that I think about it, Eric's smell makes my mouth water and I didn't understand why. He smells like fresh rainfall and mint... 2 of my favorite smells. He catches me staring at him and he smiles. I have to focus...

"I can understand your reluctance Alpha... I have known Emily and her family for a very long time and I didn't say anything... Ive always known they were werewolves but it was not my place to say anything... Emily is like my sister and her parents are like my family... you don't have to tell me everything, I just want to know that Jake and Emily are ok" she says with tears in her eyes. I take my best friends hands... she is a witch and I am a werewolf... how things have changed.

"I can't tell you everything Aubrey but what I can tell you is that Jake and Emily passed out on their birthdays because they are twins... the power of them meeting was too much to handle, but they are fine now" Alpha Jack says. Aubrey is staring at me and then at Jake...

"Oh my goodness... so the prophecy is true..." she says, her eyes wide. "What do you know about the prophecy??" Luna Alice asks seriously. "Our kind has been told stories about a prophecy since we were little saying that there will be twins born to a powerful alpha and Luna. They will possess strong powers that bad people will want for themselves. All the species in the supernatural world will want these twins for themselves. Should these twins fall in the wrong hands and side with evil, they could terrorize the sypernatural world. And if they stay true to themselves and side with good, then they will restore peace to the supernatural world"... she Said. "This is the only reasonable explanation I can think of for you to have separated Jake and Emily... your secret is safe with me Alpha, Luna, Mr and Mrs Adams. I understand the dangers of such a secret getting out if I am right" Aubrey says. "We do not know if the prophecy is true Aubrey, we were also told stories... we didn't want to take a chance When Jake and Emily were born... people were hunting Alpha twins" Luna Alice said looking at me sadly.

All of a sudden a sweet floral smell filled the room and Aubreys eyes turned a soft purple. I gasped at my bestfriend... "Phew, it feels good to drop the act so you can see the real me Emily" she says looking at me. I just stand there staring at my bestfriend... so all things supernatural are real??
