The Prophecy

Chapter 15

Emily's POV

I sit up straight on the ground. I was crying badly for a few minutes and realize I need to get back. I'm walking through the forest, feet sinking into the earth below my feet. The forest is so quiet, barely a chirp or a breeze. All that can be heard is the sound of my heartbeat and the crunching of the leaves under my feet. Wait, this feels familiar.

As I'm walking I get the feeling I'm being followed. I start to walk faster pulling my sweater closer to myself. The sound of a wolf howling close by halts me in my steps. Goosebumps traveling from the top of my head to the tip of my toes. I hear a soft growl behind me and slowly turn around to look my impending doom in the face... or should I say snout. Standing before me is a massive brown wolf with a wicked and sinister snarl... his eyes are gleaming red and his stare is deadly...

I hear a voice in my mind as clear as day, "Shift"....

All of a sudden I feel my hands start to burn, I look down and see claws protruding from my nails and fur start to sprout out my arms... I realize I'm standing taller... I hear growling but it's not from the wolf, it's from me!!!

I stare at the wolf infront of me who is in attack stance, ready to pounce... I bend down standing on all fours and lurch forwards towards the wolf, I swipe my paw at his face, he ducks and slashes my throat before I can even blink....

I wait for the "Beep beep beep" of my alarm so I can wake up from this nightmare but it doesn't come. I take a few steps back and snarl at the wolf infront of me who is ready to attack me again.

Suddenly a massive black wolf jumps at the brown wolf and rips his head right off before turning to me. I'm not scared of this wolf, I know this wolf. He has a white Cresent shape on his chest. I feel myself Shift back and run to the wolf throwing my arms around his neck. "Mate" I hear the voice in my head before I lose consciousness due to the blood loss.

Jake's POV

Silver and I are running as fast as we can through the woods to get to Emily when all of a sudden we feel a deep pain on our neck. "Emily" we think at the same time making us run faster. We come to a clearing and see Eric holding Emily who is covered in blood. s**t s**t s**t.

I see a rogue wolf lying just to the side with his head ripped clean off. I Shift back, "The rogue attacked her, I was just too late" Eric says with tears in his eyes. "Let's get her back, her wolf will heal her" I say to him. We make our way back to Emily's house. Her parents and my parents run to us when they see us. We tell them what happened. The mothers take her upstairs to clean her wounds and get her dressed.

Eric's POV

"Our mate is beautiful and strong and fearless" Midnight says to me in my mind. I keep thinking about the beautiful wolf I saw standing infront of me. I knew in that moment I would do anything to make her happy, to protect her from all evil.

"Are you ok?" Jake asks me, startling me from my thoughts of Emily. "I'll be fine when I know Emily is fine. Happy birthday by the way" I say to him. "What's your wolfs name?", "Silver" he answers. It makes sense when I think to the massive silver, grey wolf with piercing blue eyes running into the clearing to come help us.

"This is all so crazy, I have a sister" Jake says to me shaking his head. "I always knew something was missing in my life" he says. I wonder if he is mad at his parents for keeping such a big secret from him... "I'm not mad at my parents" he answers my thoughts, "It's just a bit of a shock, but I understand why they did it" he truly will make a great Alpha.
