The Prophecy

Chapter 16

Emily's POV

I wake up from passing out for what feels like the 100th time. I hope this is not a werewolf thing. I think to myself... "No it isn't" I hear the voice in my head. "Who... who is that?" I ask. "Hi Emily, my name is Snow and I'm your wolf, it's nice to finally speak to you" she says. Snow? I love her already. "I love you too, we are one from now on" she says happily. I think about the claws and fur when I shifted, the fur I could see was snow white. "We need to find mate?" She says in my mind. "Mate" I ask her. "Eric and Midnight" she answers.

"What is a mate?" I ask Snow. "A mate is our other half, he completes us. Sort of like our soul mate", she says. "The moon Goddess Selene has created a mate for all of our kind, some never meet while others like us find our mates" she explains. "And what about Jake?" I ask since I feel a connection with him too. "He is our brother, we are special. My brothers names is Silver, the four of us are destined for great things" she explains. I feel myself calm down. I know I need to trust her and I do.

I get out of bed and look at the mirror in my bathroom. I see my eyes are gleaming gold. I close my eyes and will my eyes to return back to normal. When I open them the are their usual blue again. That's awesome, I think to myself. I look at my neck and see the faint red lines from where that other wolf scratched me. It's healed so fast, I think to myself. "That's our healing power" Snow says. "We heal much faster than humans" she explains.

I see I am clean of all blood and look ok. I decide to go face my parents and brother... and mate... as I'm about to turn when I hear a small knock on my door. "Who is it?" I ask. "It's Jake" I hear him answer. I go to open up the door. I feel this overwhelming feeling and grab him into a tight hug. "I knew someone was missing, my whole life, I just knew Jake" I say to him in-between tears. He holds me tight. "How are you feeling sis?" He nudges my arm as we sit on my bed. "A little overwhelmed but I think I'm starting to understand a few things, my wolf Snow has explained alot of things to me" I say. "Yeah, I don't think anyone meant to hurt us, they were trying to do what's best for us, I hope you aren't too mad at our parents" he says... our parents... so weird. "I will have to get used to that... our parents" I laugh softly and he laughs along.

We make our way downstairs, it is quite late. I know my parents went to lie down and Jake's Parents, um our parents went to sleep in the spareroom. I catch the most amazing smell and I start sniffing the air... it smells like rain forest and mint. It makes my mouth water. I see Eric lying on the couch with his arm draped over his face. As if he senses me staring at his he sits upright and then runs to me. I put my hands up to stop him from touching me, I'm not ready yet.

He stops in front of me and I feel this pull towards him. "Mate, mate" Snow purs in my head. It's like I'm seeing him for the first time, his messy blonde hair and his amazing green eyes. The dipples in his cheeks and chiseled chin. His t-shirt sits tight around his body showing his athletic build. I take a deep breath and his smell hits me again. "Hi" I say, "Hi back" he says with a small smile. I reach my hand out towards his face and put my hand on his cheeks. The tingles almost shock me and I get a fright. He steps towards me and asks for permission with his eyes to come closer. I nod and he reaches his hands up and pulls me into a soft hug.

The urge to have him close to me becomes unbearable and I grab him and dig my face into his chest breathing deeply. He runs his hand over my hair, "It's ok Emmy, I've got you, I'll never let anyone hurt you" he says as I cry onto his shirt. "I'm... I'm so sorry, I'm a blubbering mess" I say to him wiping away my tears. "You never have to apologize for what you feel, you have gone through so much" he says and my heart swells and beats even faster for this man. "So mates hey?" I ask smiling at him.

Eric's POV

"So mates hey?" My beautiful girl says. "Yes we are mates... how do you feel about all this?" I ask... "It's overwhelming, but Snow says it's the purest form of love, and it just feels right to trust this" she says and my heart and Midnight is overjoyed. I grab her and hug her tightly. She accepts us Midnight, I say to him and he howls with happiness. "Are you all ready for bed because I am" she says with a yawn... she is so cute. "We are going to crash on the couches, see you tomorrow morning and happy birthday" I say to her giving her a kiss on the forehead. "Thank you, I almost forgot about that. Happy birthday Jake" she says to him but he is already passed out on the couch. She makes her way up the stairs and heads toward her room. She stops halfway and turns to me... "um would you mind maybe sleeping by me tonight? I don't really want to be alone" she stands and twists her hair around her finger. "Ofcourse babe" I say and follow her to her room.

Her room is not too big. The walls are an off white colour. She has a double bed with soft purple bedding. There is a huge brown teddy bear on her bed. She goes to lie on the bed and moves over to make space for me. I climb in next to her and lay on my back. She puts her head on my chest and I pull her close to me. This feels amazing. We lay quietly for a few minutes and I hear her breathing change. She has fallen asleep. I reach for the bedside table and turn off the lamp. I hold my girl tight as I fall asleep with her in my arms.
