Chapter 22
Bash followed the sounds of women screaming until he came around a corner and froze. Nova had her arms wrapped around Freya’s waist while Freya held her hands out at Em’Ra. Em’Ra was pinned against a wall over a meter off the ground.
Behind Freya and Nova, four women he faintly recognized as Resistance members were likewise pinned to another wall. All of them were screaming. Blood trickled out of Freya’s nose as she yelled threats and curses at Em’Ra for answers.
He’d shown up just in time. Taking a cautious step toward Freya, he didn’t want her telekinesis aimed at him. About halfway, she noticed and put a hand out at him. Frozen to the spot, he couldn’t do more than talk.
“I got the file. It’s intact and you can read it if you let everyone go.” She stared at him but didn’t
