“What happened to ditching this trip?” I eyed Maver from the front seat as he got inside the van that Ash was carpooling.
“My evil aunt tried to blackmail me concerning my allowance.” The guy sighed out loud.
He was the last one that we had to pick up before heading to the beach resort down south since the twins were meeting us there.
Seth was busy reading a book in the middle seat while Levin had his headphones on with his laptop on his lap at the far end of the van.
“What are you looking at? Face front.” Maver noticed that I was looking at him while thinking that all three of them are pretty much the antisocial type.
“Kid, you sound like you’re the teacher.” Ash laughed.
“How many hours until we reach our destination?” I asked Ash.
“Well, I don’t really know. Could you check the map for me?” Ash asked me for a favor.
“You have a map? Just what generation are you in? I’m pretty sure your GPS works just fine. No need to ask Clement to navigate for you.” Seth spoke without leaving his eyes from his book.
“I’m just making sure that we don’t get lost.” Ash mumbled.
“I’m turning up the music.” I tried to ease the tension in the air real quick.
“You better not. I’m taking a nap.” Maver objected.
“It’s classical music.” I told the guy.
“Then I guess that’s fine. Instrumental makes me sleep better.”
After two hours on the road, we reached our destination.
“Clement!” I heard Treyton yell as he ran towards the van. How do I know it’s him and not his twin? Well, that’s easy since the guy is loud.
“Love the location and all but no one seems to be around… is this place haunted?” Trey asked my boss.
“No, it’s just a private resort.” Ash grinned.
“Awesome. Let me help you carry your bag.” Treyton tried to snatch my bag away from me but I refused to let go.
“No thanks, I can do it myself.”
“Clement, can I photograph you later by the beach for my new project?” Forrest asked for my permission.
“And what project is that? Project bikini?” Maver made a snarky comment and then I felt like they were shooting invisible electric currents from their eyes as they glared at each other.
“I didn’t bring any bikini with me. I mean, it’s not like we’re all required to wear bikinis in the first place.” I scoffed.
“I knew you were going to say that! Luckily, I brought some bikini with me that you can borrow.” Ash exclaimed triumphantly. I’m not even surprised that he went shopping for bikinis just for my sake.
“Okay, enough with this whole bikini talk. Show us our rooms already so that I can set up my PlayStation.” Levin demanded from his cousin.
“There’s no way you’re shutting yourself in your room to play games, young man! You need to compete for your room keys through a real game.” Ash retorted back.
“What game?” Seth got curious.
“Water fight. So you need to team up with your future roommate first in order to fight for the biggest and most luxurious room here.”
“Dibs on Clement!” Treyton shouted.
“Obviously, Clement isn’t part of this game since she gets her own room but she will be the referee. I, on the other hand, will be joining so no need to be disappointed.” Ash reassured the guy who made a disappointed look on his face.
“So what are we waiting for, ladies? Team up!” Ash clapped his hands.
“Brother, we’re a team, right?” Trey approached Fort.
“Sure.” Fort replied nonchalantly.
“You look like you’re not annoying. Want to team up?” Maver took the initiative to ask Seth to be his partner.
“Fine by me.” Seth agreed.
“Looks like we’re stuck with each other, cousin.” Ash placed an arm around Levin’s shoulders which he quickly wiggled out from.
“Whatever.”
“Okay everyone, tops off and into the pool! The beach is farther away so yeah let’s just get this over with here.” Ash instructed as he unbuttoned his polo shirt then tossed it to the side.
Everyone began shamelessly undressing in front of me which was pretty uncomfortable since I’m not really used to seeing shirtless guys in real life.
“Who wants to go first?” I pretended to keep my cool.
“We are!” Maver and Trey shrieked in unison.
“Get ready then. The winner for the first round will compete with Ash’s team.” I explained.
Trey lifted his brother, Fort up on his shoulders and Seth did the same to Maver.
“Okay, on your mark, get set and… go!” I shouted.
Maver attacked Fort rather aggressively but Trey managed to keep his brother from falling backwards for quite some time until Fort gave up the defense and fell into the water.
“It’s alright, bro. We’ll win next time but you should really consider hitting up the gym.” Trey advised his twin who just grimaced as a response.
“Are you guys ready for the second round or do you want to take a rest first?” I asked Maver and Seth.
“Resting is for p*****s. Let’s start!” Maver sounded rather pumped up.
Without further ado, Ash lifted his cousin up on his shoulders and tried to motivate him to win no matter what since the suite room had a Jacuzzi in the bath.
“On your mark guys, get set and… go!”
Like the first round, Maver attacked first and Levin tried his best to defend himself and then he tried to counterattack Maver and the water fight went on for like ten minutes before Levin finally fell backwards into the pool water.
“It was a close call. Good fight guys.” I congratulated the boys.
“Woohoo! We have a Jacuzzi!” Maver cheered.
“Here are your keys.” I handed them out one by one per team.
“You know, I wasn’t exactly looking forward to the Jacuzzi. I wanted the suite room because it’s connected to your room.” Ash whispered on my ear.
